January through March
Year 2
January
WrestleMania season officially kicked into gear when the calendar turned to January and the Royal Rumble PPV had people wondering who would emerge as the next big challenger. On Raw, two of the most shocking moments of the year took place during the month and set up a huge Tag Team Title match for the upcoming PPV!
At the TLC PPV last month, Big Mutha Trucker & Tank Blazer brought the Tag Team Titles back to Raw by defeating Billy Carter & Zach Wesley. The win was great for the Badass Coalition, as it gave the group multiple titles again due to Trucker's dominance over the Hardcore Title. But unknown to all, Coalition leader David Degenerate was seething with jealousy after losing his U.S. Title rematch to Carson Pain and watching his stablemates score a title win without his assistance. On the first Raw episode of the month, David attacked Trucker backstage and ended their alliance (see below)! Trucker & Tank took the betrayal hard, but decided to move on and stick together. The Tag Team champs continued to concentrate on their own progress, and even picked up a big victory the following week on Raw. But post-match, David appeared and addressed the champs (see below). David insulted his former friends, but also made a reveal that left the crowd speechless. David told everyone he had aligned with someone new... WWE champ DMK! David and DMK had been rivals for years, but had decided to join forces! David and DMK formed "Hell's Genius" and quickly became a threat to Trucker & Tank's Tag Team Title reign. For the rest of the month, Hell's Genius ran roughshod over the tag team division, beating every other contender along the the way and earning a Tag Team Title match against the Badass Coalition duo. Fans were excited to see this intense feud blow off at the Royal Rumble!
Another moment in the feud that occurred featured Trucker's reign over the Hardcore Title. Brett Diamond worked his way up the Hardcore rankings and earned a title match. But with Trucker distracted by the feud with Hell's Genius, the "Resident Redneck" did not give the "Professional" the respect he was due. On an episode of Superstars late in the month, Trucker defended his Hardcore belt against Brett... but suffered a huge upset loss! The "Professional" was delirious to win his first singles' title, while Trucker was stunned that his long Hardcore Title reign was over!
With the Royal Rumble approaching, many battle royals with potential Rumble entrants took place throughout the month. Many possible Rumble winners emerged, like Renegade, Shawn Midnight, Travis Roarke and U.S. champ Carson Pain, but nobody could predict what might happen!

MAJOR HISTORICAL MOMENT:
David Degenerate attacks Big Mutha Trucker & ends the Badass Coalition alliance
The cameras rolls backstage and we see Big Mutha Trucker chatting with a few producers. The "Resident Redneck" has his newly-won Tag Team Title belt tossed over his shoulder and is standing proudly. The producers leave and Trucker is standing there alone. Behind him, we see David Degenerate approaching. Trucker's Badass Coalition stablemate does not seem to be in a good mood, but Trucker greets him.
Trucker: "Hey David... what's up?"
But David doesn't even respond... he just attacks! The "Dangerous Genius" just starts to put the beatdown on his friend! David punches and stomps Trucker angrily, and then tosses him hard into a garage door and slamming his head off a storage crate. To end the brawl, David tosses Trucker hard into a nearby vending machine! Trucker lays face down on the concrete floor and seems to be knocked out. David walks over and grabs him by the back of the head.
David: "If you're not going to help me, then we're done."
David slams Trucker's head back down to the floor and walks off. The camera zooms in on Trucker's face as the segment ends!

MAJOR HISTORICAL MOMENT:
David Degenerate shocks everyone by revealing his new ally
Trucker and Tank's celebration is cut short by the unexpected entrance of... David Degenerate! The "Dangerous Genius" walks out and receives a chorus of boos from the fans, but he has a very sly smile as he walks down to the ringside. Trucker and Tank are annoyed with David's interruption and watch him approach. David has a microphone and addresses his former friends.
David: "Wow, what a match! Gosh, I'm just SO impressed. No wonder this crowd is suddenly behind you 100%. It's a shame that for how much support they're giving you that you couldn't give the same... to ME."
The crowd boos again as David stands with a cocky posture. Trucker grabs a mic and responds.
Trucker: "I don't know what your deal is David, but you clearly are confused. Tank and I have been by your side for almost 2 years. All of a sudden you attack me and end the stable? I don't get it..."
David: "What I don't get is how you two idiots don't realize that the stable doesn't work if I'm not running it successfully. How does it help us if you two are sitting comfortably with the Tag Team titles and I'm empty-handed?"
Trucker: "You have been selfish since I've known you, but I've put up with it because I knew what you could bring to the table. But this has gone too far and I'm sick of it. WE won the Tag Team titles WITHOUT YOUR HELP. If you can't win back a title without help... then maybe you're not as good as you think you are."
David: "See, now that's where you're wrong my little redneck friend. You see, I AM as good as I think I am. You haven't seen anything yet."
Trucker: "Well how about you step into this ring and prove it? If you're so good, then you should be able to take both Tank and myself down easy!"
David: "Ha ha... good one. I'm not that dumb. But regardless, why would I need to take you both on myself... when I could enlist some help?"
Trucker and Tank glance at each other confused as David smiles and continues.
David: "When one team ends... another begins..."
A few anxious moments pass, but a shocking turn takes place when... a familiar fire pyro blasts from the stage! The jaws drop as everybody in the arena, including a shocked Trucker and Tank, realize that David has just joined forces with... WWE champ DMK!!! DMK peels back the curtain slowly and walks out onto the stage, and the "King" stands proudly for a moment before walking down the ramp. The crowd is in a speechless state of shock as two formerly-intense rivals are forming a suddenly-dangerous team! DMK stands next to David and nods in his direction before looking out at Trucker and Tank. David turns his attention back to his former friends and officially announces the new team.
David: "Let me introduce the newest and UNSTOPPABLE team that will rule Raw... Hell's Genius!!!"
The new team stands proudly and glares at the Badass team in the ring, who are just staring at their new rivals mouths agape! The show comes to a close with an close-up on the new team and a glance of the fans' shocked reactions around them!

February
The burning remnants of the Royal Rumble PPV had the Raw brand in chaos as February approached, and the developments surrounding the new powerful duo of DMK and David Degenerate drove the main storylines for the month.
The biggest moment of the Royal Rumble night was the final namesake match, where 30 men battled for a chance to main event the upcoming WrestleMania. In the end, U.S. champ Carson Pain began from entry #10 and eliminated a returning Rebel Ford last to win the match and put himself in direct line for DMK's WWE Title! "The Original" had a slow-burning rise after he was drafted over to Raw, but over the past 2 months he had captured the U.S. Title and won the Royal Rumble. Carson's success made him enemy #1 for Hell's Genius, and the new Tag Team champs set their sights on damaging him throughout the month.
DMK & David D. also picked up a big win at the Royal Rumble PPV, defeating Big Mutha Trucker & Tank Blazer to win the Tag Team Titles. This made DMK a double champion again, while also giving the "Dangerous Genius" his first Tag Team Title reign. After Carson shocked all by winning the Rumble, the evil alliance decided to make his life hell! DMK and David attacked Carson backstage multiple times during the month, trying to inflict as much punishment as possible and weaken him. To make the point even worse, David earned a U.S. Title shot and set out to capture all the main Raw titles for the partnership!
As DMK and David harrassed Carson, "The Original" was clearly in need of some help. Recognizing a man in distress and still harboring ill feelings towards DMK, Renegade stepped in! The "Party Animal" gave Carson some in-ring assistance and eventually cut off the backstage attacks, giving Carson enough confidence to prepare for his title defense at Elimination Chamber!
While Renegade helped Carson out, his true ally Lee Money faced a tough upcoming challenge. "Cash" was the reigning Cruiserweight Champion, but the division continued to be a crazy battle for supremacy. Instead of establishing one contender, it was decided that Lee would be forced to defend his title at the upcoming PPV... against FIVE other contenders! Lee would face off against Anarchy, Dylan Dynamite, Paulie Dominos, Alpha and the man he beat to win the title, Tommy Parker, at Elimination Chamber in a 6-man Battle Royal! The six competitors faced off in preview singles matches throughout the month, but no one really emerged as the favorite before the PPV!
Jealousy is an ugly color, but it quickly leads to feuds in the WWE. This month, a similar instance led to an interesting Hardcore Title match. Shawn Midnight had been struggling for months to find a solid foothold on Raw, losing two WWE Title matches and being unable to keep a winning streak alive. Meanwhile, his former tag partner Brett Diamond found some major success, upsetting Big Mutha Trucker last month to win the Hardcore Title. The win gave the "Professional" his first title in WWE, and he couldn't help but be ecstatic! Shawn observed the victory, but had a very different reaction. "Daddy Mack" considered himself to be the toughest man on Raw, and refused to give his former friend credit for the title win. Jealousy enraged, and Shawn attacked Brett out of nowhere to ignite a feud! Brett was stunned, and tried to get answers out of Shawn. But instead of coming clean, Shawn attacked him again! Brett responded the following week with an attack of his own, and a Hardcore Title match was agreed to. Could Brett prove his title win was not a fluke, or could Shawn re-establish himself as a major Raw player?

March
WrestleMania season was in full swing, and the Raw brand was essentially being crushed by the impact of a powerful duo. Hell's Genius, which featured WWE champ DMK and new U.S. champ David Degenerate, had looked unstoppable since their shocking alliance formed in January. So much so, that together they were also the reigning Tag Team champs as well! David's victory over Carson Pain at the Elimination Chamber PPV, thanks to a distraction from DMK, allowed him to re-capture the U.S. Title and gave the evil duo all the major titles on Raw. There didn't seem to be any way out of the power of Hell's Genius, and Raw appeared doomed to suffer under their wrath!
But one thing still lingered over everything, and that was Carson Pain's Royal Rumble victory. The coveted win guaranteed "The Original" a shot at DMK's WWE Title in the main event of the upcoming WrestleMania, and Carson appeared to be the chosen one to shift the balance of power on Raw. Despite losing his U.S. Title to David, Carson re-focused quickly to DMK and prepared himself for a war! The feud between Carson and DMK had not developed as much yet, but one argument led to a backstage brawl and set off an intense, explosive rivalry as the biggest PPV of the year loomed near! Carson and DMK had multiple violent interactions, and fans were excited to see them settle the score!
While Carson and DMK battled, the WWE champ's ally David D. had a nasty rivalry developing at the same time. Big Mutha Trucker, who used to be David's closest ally, had risen up the ranks and was determined to get revenge for David's betrayal back in January. The "Dangerous Genius" continued to disrespect the "Resident Redneck", but Trucker continued to prove himself a threat. One of the biggest moments that showed Trucker's lack of fear was during a match between Carson and David mid-month. DMK was ringside and it seemed like "The Original" was outnumbered, but just before the match started, Trucker strolled down to ringside in support of Carson! David was furious to see Trucker, and was distracted enough to lose the match. As a result, David and Trucker agreed to a No DQ match a few days before WrestleMania (see below). The "Resident Redneck" had a great showing during the match, and the "Genius" started to panic. But during the match, Tank Blazer showed up and it initially seemed like he was going to assist Trucker out. But instead... the "Captain" attacked his own tag team partner and stunned everyone! The betrayal helped David win the match, but it added yet another layer to the growing feud between the former members of the Badass Coalition.
The other major development involved several feuds smushing together to create a multi-man Hardcore Title match at WrestleMania. Brett Diamond, the current champ, was victorious last month at the Elimination Chamber PPV in his first title defense. The "Professional" defeated his former ally Shawn Midnight, but the feud between them was not over. They seemed like they were heading for another title bout, but it was not going to end up as a one-on-one battle.
Renegade and Lee Money had been getting the short end of the respect stick lately. Despite being the Cruiserweight champ, Lee was forced to defend his title in a 6-man battle royal at last month's PPV. "Cash" won, but felt like he didn't deserve to defend his belt in a crazy match like that. His pal Renegade also had been feeling more and more angry, having failed to earn retribution from DMK's betrayal last summer and a lack of title opportunities available. Together, they decided that going the "nice guy" route had worn out and went full heel! Just before a scheduled tag team match against new duo Travis Roarke & Dylan Dynamite, Renegade and Lee attacked them from behind! The action convinced the fans that "Cash" and the "Party Animal" had turned bad, and starting reacting to the duo in a negative way. The two teams developed a fierce rivalry, and they continued to battle throughout the month. To settle things, Lee agreed to defend his title against Dylan while Renegade and the "Assassin" had a war of words over who the "toughest" man on Raw would be. Noticing the ambiguous situation involving the Hardcore Title, they decided to insert themselves into the match as a great way to raise the stakes on their feud!
With two feuds related to the Hardcore Title developing, another man put himself in the picture as well. Rising rookie H.E.R.O. recognized a chance to possibly steal the title for himself, and the athletic youngster got involved! H.E.R.O. got mixed up in the Brett & Shawn rivalry, and he made a bold claim to take the title away from both men. The "Professional" took offense to the inexperienced grappler's vow, and agreed to let him challenge for the title as well. In the end, a 5-man Scramble match for the Hardcore Title was scheduled for the year's biggest PPV!

MAJOR HISTORICAL MOMENT:
David Degenerate faces Big Mutha Trucker in a No DQ match
The final match of the evening pitted the "Dangerous Genius" against his former friend in a No DQ battle. The "Resident Redneck" has been quickly climbing the ranks and may be in line for a shot at David's U.S. title, and a victory tonight would help push that along! Trucker made his entrance first and received a nice response from the crowd, and he seemed ready to dish out a little pain. David was greeted with a chorus of boos, which of course he seemed to enjoy. The "Genius" strutted down to the ring, title belt snapped around his waist, and smiled sarcastically as the fans shouted vile comments in his direction. The two men circled each other slowly as the bell rang to start the match, and the crowd was on their feet!
It was a great back-and-forth battle between these two, as Trucker even seemed to surprise David with his improved skills. The "Redneck", knowing David's love for cheap tricks and dirty tactics, even prevented a few close calls with some smart moves. Trucker slowly but surely seemed to have the upper hand, which made David start to panic a little and take some unsuccessful risks. With David reeling, the fans started to buzz as Trucker was poised to pull an upset!
But in a heated moment, the two men traded punches and tried to snare control. Suddenly, Tank Blazer jogged down to the ring! The fans gave a loud cheer for the "Captain" as it seemed like he was coming to aid Trucker in his fight! The "Redneck" was able to plant David with a hard slam, and rose up to get the fans pumped up! Tank slid into the ring and Trucker nodded to him approvingly, thinking he was there to assist. But a dark look came over Tank's face and suddenly... he attacked Trucker! The fans were in shock as the "Captain" put the beatdown on his partner! Satisfied with his dirty work, Tank shoved Trucker's face into the mat and walked off, leaving his beaten partner to fend for himself!
David slowly recovered himself and realized what had happened. He smiled a bit and got to his feet, an rejuvenated bounce to his step! Trucker staggered to his feet, hurt and shocked from his partner's betrayal. He walked right into David's waiting arms... and the "Genius" dropped him with his finishing Genius Bomb! The ref counted the pinfall to give the U.S. champ the win!
David grabbed his U.S. belt and celebrated to himself as he quickly exited the ring. In the ring, Trucker sat up in pain but seemed very confused by the events that just took place. He shook his head and glanced around the arena with a scowl on his face!
WINNER: David Degenerate
