Year 2
Mixed Tag Team Match:
Joseph T. Lutte & Eve vs. Kelly Kelly & ???
The feud between Eve and reigning Women's champ Kelly Kelly had been brewing slowly for a few months since Intercontinental champion Lutte sponsored a Divas battle royal back in November and promised to manage the winner to be the next Women's champion. Eve won that match and had enjoyed the Fantastic Frenchman's support, much to the dismay of the current champ. Earlier in the month, Eve reached another milestone in her quest for the gold when she won a Triple Theat match to officially become the Women's #1 contender. On the final Smackdown before the PPV, Eve challenged Kelly Kelly to a mixed tag match... if she could find a partner.
Joseph and Eve made their way to the ring and awaited Kelly Kelly and her mystery partner. The Women's champ stepped out onto the stage and welcomed... Guy Justice! The "True Savior" agreed to help out the Women's champ and get a match at the Rumble PPV.
The match was very back-and-forth but it was clear that Lutte & Eve's chemistry was gaining the advantage. The I.C. titleholder was putting a beating on Justice, but Guy managed to knock down his foe and return to the corner for a tag. But when the Truth Provider reached out, there was no hand to tag! Kelly Kelly backed off and abandoned her partner, seemingly frustrated by his lack of success. With Justice weakened and now alone, Lutte took advantage and nailed him with a Moneymaker finisher to score a cheap pinfall.
WINNERS: Joseph T. Lutte & Eve Torres

Divas Battle Royal:
Melina vs. Michelle McCool vs. Alicia Fox vs. Beth Phoenix
With 30 men set to battle in the Rumble later, the Divas of WWE got their chance to show their over-the-top-rope match skills in their own battle royal.
Fox was first to go over, followed soon by the Glamazon. Melina and McCool, who had been battling each other for #1 contendership on the Raw brand, faced off. Melina tried a hurricanrana but McCool caught her at the right moment, sending the photo-friendly Diva tumbling to the outside. The icy McCool stood tall in the ring after claiming the win.
WINNER: Michelle McCool

Unified Tag Team Championship:
Badass Coalition (Big Mutha Trucker & Tank Blazer) (C) vs.
Hell's Genius (DMK & David Degenerate)
The Badass Coalition had been a major source of heel power on the Raw brand for well over a year, but it was clear that the tension between David D. and Trucker had grown beyond control. Earlier in the month, the Dangerous Genius attacked his former friend and officially ended his role in the Coalition. This act and Trucker & Tank's Tag title win last month over Billy Carter & Zach Wesley at the TLC PPV made the Coalition a fan-friendly faction for the first time in their existence.
David didn't stay alone for long, as he shocked all by finding a new and powerful ally... WWE champion DMK! The unlikely team showed great heel chemistry right from the start, which put a serious doubt in fans' minds about the future of the Raw brand. It also raised doubts for the Coalition's chances to keep the Tag titles, since Hell's Genius skyrocketed up the Tag division ranks and earned a title shot in less than a month.
The match had all the intensity you would expect from two scorned and angry rival teams. Trucker and Tank took an early advantage but David's tricks turned the momentum. Tank got David on the ropes and a big clothesline sent them flying outside. The match turned into a crazy brawl with all team members going at it in and around the ring. In the end, David made a sneaky tag and took out Trucker. Tank got distracted by the action and walked right into a Checkmate by legal man DMK, who scored the pinfall following the finisher. The win shocked the crowd, who watched in horror as the evil team just earned another big move over the WWE! Trucker checked on Tank in the ring but shook his head in disgust as their rivals walked off in arrogant celebration.

Inferno Match:
Angus vs. Zach Wesley
Heading into the Royal Rumble PPV, one of the fiercest rivalries had fans giddy to see the match. Back in December, Zach Wesley was on top of the world. He had held the ECW title for nearly 6 months, the longest reign since its reincarnation, and had just won his 1st Tag Team title with partner Billy Carter. But a motivated Rusty won the right to an ECW title match at the Survivor Series PPV, and the Badass Coalition climbed up the tag division ranks and were ready to get their shot at the tag belts. The "Mohawked Maniac" felt he had the strength and confidence to take on both feuds successfully, but one problem arose... Rusty enlisted the help of the "Irish Giant" Angus! Through Angus' assistance, Rusty was able to put a serious dent in Zach and Billy's momentum. At Tribute to the Troops, Rusty did the unthinkable and ended Zach's ECW title reign. Then at the PPV, with Zach still frustrated over the loss, the Tag Team titles were won by the Badass Coalition. So in a matter of days, Zach went from a double champion to a big loser. As a result, he went looking for the one man he felt was to blame for his failures... Angus.
Zach called out the unbeaten Irishman and angrily challenged him to a match. He felt that if he couldn't have big-time success that Angus' streak must also come to an end, and he vowed to be the one to do it. Angus agreed to a match, but when Zach couldn't find a way to faze the Giant he decided to up the ante... an Inferno Match!
Both men entered the ring and stood nose-to-nose as the ring around them was set ablaze. The view of these two super-heavyweights preparing for war with flames licking the ropes got the crowd into a excited mood. When the punches started flying, the battle was on. Both men used their strength to perform as many power moves as possible, hoping to inflict major damage. Zach dropped his foe with a powerslam, but Angus countered with an impressive military press drop. The momentum continued to shift but neither man could "light" up a victory.
Near the end, the two brutes battled near the ropes. Zach tried to lift up the Giant and force him into the flames, but Angus countered with a huge uppercut. The Maniac stumbled and walked right into a Cliffhanger! With his opponent weak, Angus dragged him to the flames and was able to toss him through! Medical personnel rushed to put out the flames while the "Irish Giant" soaked in the crowd's cheers, celebrating his 1st major PPV win and a still-intact unbeaten mark.

World Heavyweight Championship
(Fatal 4-Way Elimination Match):
Ace (C) vs. Gravedigger vs. Eric Executioner vs. Mack Wheeler
The events that led to this 4-way title match were brewed up from very deep emotional feuds. Eric and Mack, former tag team partners, were still embroiled in a fierce game of one-upsmanship. Eric E. attacked his former ally at Survivor Series to end their friendship, and Mack's need to prove his worth led to a match between them at the TLC PPV. At the beginning of January, Mack demanded a title shot since he stood around watching Eric win and then lose the World Heavyweight belt twice and felt that he was better than his former friend. Obviously Eric felt differently, and demanded a title shot as well.
The "Graveyard Monster" was still sour over his losses to Ace at Survivor Series and TLC, and demanded a 3rd shot to reclaim the title. Ace felt he had done enough to prove he didn't have to face any of the 3 challengers at Royal Rumble... but Smackdown GM Teddy Long saw things in a different light. The GM decided the only way to settle everyone's arguments was to put everyone in the same match... with the title on the line! And so this Fatal 4-Way Elimination match was born, with four of Smackdown's top grapplers going at it!
The match itself had everything you could ask for: weapons, blood, power moves and great moments galore. 'Digger was able to score the first pinfall when he caught Mack with a Cemetery Slam finisher. Later, Eric E. had grabbed a chair and waited at ringside. When Ace whipped 'Digger into the ropes, Eric struck him in the head with the foreign object. The Monster turned groggily and stumbled right into Ace's Royal Flush finisher, and the champ pinned him right after to knock him out of the match.
It was down to Ace and Eric, two rivals who continued to hate on each other. The two men battled hard, hoping to walk out of the Rumble with the World title in tow. Eric got overzealous with his power moves, and Ace timed a reversal perfectly. After hitting Eric with a Falling Star signature, the champ set up and waited anxiously to deliver a Pocket Rocket spear. When the super-heavyweight narcissist struggled to his feet, the champ nailed him and scored the winning pinfall. Ace celebrated proudly as he survived another month as Smackdown's top beltholder!

30-Man Royal Rumble Match
The annual Royal Rumble match closed out the PPV, with the winner earning a main event title shot at the upcoming Wrestlemania PPV.
(Note: Number next to each superstar's name indicates their entry number for the match)
1. Krizz Torture 2. Shawn Midnight
Smackdown's Krizz and Raw's Shawn had drawn the opening two numbers for the Rumble, and trash-talked as the match got underway. It didn't take long for the punches to fly, as the two athletic grapplers tried hard to gain an early advantage.
3. Dylan Dynamite 4. Big Mutha Trucker 5. Alpha 6. Paulie Dominos
Trucker, who was actually the Rumble's runner-up last year, drew a low number this year but was still one of the favorites to perform well. The Japanese high-flyer didn't show well without his partner near, and was the 1st man to be eliminated. Dominos was quickly tossed out by Midnight, who started dominating the match.
7. Corey Youngblood 8. Guy Justice 9. Brett Diamond
The former hockey player, the "True Savior" and the "Professional" jumped into the fray. Diamond had a great showing last year and had recently won the Hardcore title, but he only lasted a few minutes in the match before Trucker knocked him out. Krizz was dumped by Midnight, and then Dynamite was eliminated by Youngblood. Midnight, Trucker, Youngblood and Justice were battling tough when the crowd went crazy because...
10. Carson Pain
... "The Original" had arrived! The U.S. champ came out to a huge pop and slid right into the action. His first order of business was eliminating Midnight, and then helped Trucker toss out Youngblood. It was obvious that Carson was in this match for the long haul!
11. Craig Bullet 12. Tank Blazer 13. Tony Bullet
The Bullet Boyz entered the match with Tank the only man separating their entrances, and the team immediately went to work. They doubled up on Justice and eliminated him, and then got Trucker on the ropes. But Tank flew in and saved his partner, and knocked out Tony for their troubles.
14. Renegade 15. Travis Roarke
The chaos-loving Renegade and the brawling "Assassin" joined the battle and started raising hell. Renegade and Carson joined forces and turned their attention to Trucker, using their craftiness to eliminate the "Resident Redneck".
16. Lee Money 17. Tommy Parker 18. Gravedigger 19. Joseph T. Lutte
The Rumble really started to heat up when these 4 entered the ring. "Cash" used his speed to keep opponents weary, while Parker tried to keep himself in the match. A very angry 'Digger looked determined to avenge his loss in the World title match earlier, and the "Fantastic Frenchman" seemed poised for a big push. Tank got another elimination when he knocked out Lee, and Carson got Craig Bullet to eat floor. The action got fierce but the crowd got a huge surprise when...
20. Rebel Ford
...a returning-from-injury Rebel Ford came out! The last time anyone saw or heard from him was when he suffered a bloody Hardcore title match loss at the hands of Trucker back in late November, but it was clear that Rebel was enjoying the reaction. He jumped right into the ring and it only took him a minute to score an elimination, knocking Parker out of the match. Renegade delivered a Kick-olution to Roarke, sending him flying over and Lutte gave Tank the boot.
21. David Degenerate 22. Mack Wheeler 23. Eric Executioner
The "Dangerous Genius" looked ready to win his first Rumble, while a motivated Mack appeared pumped up. But everyone took major notice when Eric E. entered the match, since the defending Rumble champ became target #1. Even though the focus turned to Eric, he was able to eliminate 'Digger to add more fuel to their rivalry. The battle raged on with several capable grapplers trying to stay in the ring.
24. Hitman Jack 25. Vincent Serum 26. Joey Cooper
Carson welcomed Cooper to the ring by quickly tossing him out, and Eric notched another mark over Mack by eliminating his former friend. Rebel and David teamed up to eliminate the "Vicious Vampire". The Rumble continued to roll as the final competitors made their entrances.
27. Antonio Jordan 28. Anarchy 29. H.E.R.O.
The crowd went nuts when the "Mastermind" joined the fray, and they enjoyed it more when he eliminated David D.! Lutte couldn't hang on against Carson and Anarchy's stay in the Rumble was short when Eric E. eliminated him. The final Rumble participant was coming up and the crowd couldn't handle the anticipation.
30. Rusty
It was time to get "2 Xtreme"! The ECW champ closed out the Rumble entrances and everyone knew that one of the remaining 8 men (Carson, Renegade, Rebel Ford, Eric E., Hitman Jack, H.E.R.O., Antonio and Rusty) was going to Wrestlemania! H.E.R.O. was knocked out by Carson, but a big shock happened when Renegade and Antonio teamed up to eliminate Eric E.! The crowd went wild as the Smackdown heel was forced to walk back to the locker room.
So it was down to six. Hitman was unable to last after Carson knocked him out, and Renegade's stay was ended by Antonio. Rusty was eliminated by Carson, and it was now down to 3.
Antonio, Carson Pain and Rebel Ford all circled each other, looking to be the next Wrestlemania headliner. They battled tough, but unfortunately a slip by "America's Favorite" allowed Rebel to send him over. And finally, it was down to two.
Carson and Rebel each looked at the Wrestlemania sign hanging high in the rafters and knew that somebody was going home a big victor, while the other would have to suffer a close loss. The Raw-brand grapplers fought valiantly but neither could score the elimination. Rebel had "The Original" on the ropes, but Carson broke free. Then Carson shoved Rebel over the top, but the sneaky punk managed to snag the bottom rope and slide back in. At the end, Carson got some momentum and knocked a tired Rebel up against the ropes. One forceful dropkick later, and Rebel was tasting the mat outside! Carson Pain had won the Royal Rumble, and was going to challenge for the WWE title at Wrestlemania!
WINNER: Carson Pain
