Year 1
April
The Raw brand witnessed some major turnover as the new "year" began, following an incredible WrestleMania. A new era of sorts had begun, as all of the well-known superstars had been replaced by a large amount of young up-and-comers. Monday Night Raw may have lost a bit of its nostalgic touch, but it more than made up for it with new generated interest in this group of talented mat technicians.
The members of the Raw roster were as follows:
And of course, the Raw Divas:
As the month began, Hell United reigned supreme after a hellacious battle to defeat the dark, evil stable they used to align with. Now, with the stable dissolved and in possession of 3 main titles, DMK and Shawn Midnight were prepared to take on all challengers as they vowed to defend the Raw brand.
It didn't take long for a rival stable to form and oppose Hell United. David Degenerate and Big Mutha Trucker met backstage early in the month and discovered they held very similar ideals when it came to their status on Raw, and they quickly joined forces. David and Trucker identified DMK and Shawn as their main rivals, and began on a quest to shift the balance of power. DMK saw the new team as an immediate threat, whereas Shawn wanted to focus on finding a sense of comfort after such a long ordeal to earn the power they had. The tension between the normally-tight partners slowly began to develop as the month wore on.
After upsetting DMK and Shawn in a tag team match on an episode of Raw, David and Trucker delivered a post-match attack onto their rivals. But as the attack continued, Tank Blazer and Dylan Dynamite ran down to the ring and initially appeared to be there to save their former stablemates. But in a shocking twist, Tank and Dylan turned against them and assisted David and Trucker on the assault. The 4 heels stood tall to close that show, and it was revealed soon after that they had formed a dangerous and powerful stable... the Badass Coalition!
Angry over being embarrassed, DMK challenged the new group to a match at the upcoming Backlash PPV. Being outnumbered didn't seem to bother DMK, and the WWE champ agreed to face David, Tank and Trucker in a 3-on-2 handicap match! This match majorly angered Shawn, because he had to now compete in 2 matches at the Backlash PPV. DMK appeared to be blind to that fact, and carried on as if he wanted to eliminate this new group before they had a chance to prove their worth.
The other match that Shawn had scheduled was a United States Title defense, which "Daddy Mack" wanted to prepare for. His opponent was none other than Antonio Jordan, who had won a #1 contender's match and quickly showed that he was a legitimate threat to Shawn's belt. But being pulled into the feud against the Badass Coalition distracted him, and he was unable to truly gain any momentum heading into the Backlash PPV.
In other news, with the new era of WWE beginning and the brand split still in effect, a 6-man battle royal was also scheduled for the Backlash PPV. Three men from Raw would go up against three members of Smackdown, with every man for himself, to give one brand some bragging rights to start the new year. Renegade, Corey Youngblood and Vincent Serum all won qualifying matches to put themselves into the battle royal and have a chance to bring Raw some victory pride.
The members of the Raw roster were as follows:
- Hell United, which was a powerful tag team of DMK and Shawn Midnight. DMK had just won the WWE Championship in a highly-anticipated main event which basically was his star-making moment. Shawn captured the U.S. Title at the same event, while together they also held the Tag Team Championships. They would begin the year with all the momentum... and with big targets on their backs as multi-champions.
- David Degenerate. The "Dangerous Genius" was a sleazy weasel who also happened to be one of the best wrestlers in all of WWE. David was known to take advantage of the rules and use underhanded tactics to win at all costs.
- Big Mutha Trucker. The "Resident Redneck" was a hard-nosed, tough-as-nails wrestler who specialized in hardcore tactics.
- Tank Blazer & Dylan Dynamite. The former military colleagues were a strong tag team that had recently broken away from a large stable that also included DMK & Shawn Midnight, but they refused to join their comrades on the "good" side.
- The Chaos Theory team of Renegade and Hitman Jack. The party animal and his "Lethal Canadian" friend had joined forces a while ago but seemed to be more talented individually than together.
- Antonio Jordan. The man known as "America's Favorite Mastermind" prided himself on his patriotism, which made him an instant fan favorite.
- Corey Youngblood. The former hockey player could hang with anybody in the ring despite his lack of experience in the sport of pro wrestling.
- Vincent Serum & Anarchy. The "Vicious Vampire" and his "Little Hellraiser" partner made for an interesting combo, as Serum was tall and brutal while Anarchy was a nasty cruiserweight with fighting expertise.
And of course, the Raw Divas:
- Divas Champion Melina. The Hollywood starlet had captured the belt at WrestleMania.
- Eve Torres. She was one of the best female grapplers on Raw.
- Maryse. The French-Canadian beauty was even more dangerous than her looks.
- Natalya. The 3rd-generation wrestler was an excellent ring technician.
- Alicia Fox. She brought passion and fire to every match.

May
The Backlash PPV witnessed a big letdown for the Hell United team, as they lost both of the matches they were involved in. First, Shawn Midnight lost his U.S. Title to Antonio Jordan to open the show. This made him very upset as he felt that he had no opportunities to gain any sort of advantage over his opponent during the previous month, and it ended up costing him the belt. Then in the main event, DMK and Shawn faced 3 members of the newly-formed Badass Coalition in a handicap match. Despite fighting hard against their rivals, the numbers game proved to be too much. David Degenerate, Big Mutha Trucker and Tank Blazer were victorious to close the PPV, which solidified their status as one of the most powerful groups in the WWE... and a direct threat to Hell United's status as top dogs.
The Badass Coalition spread their power on 2 fronts in May, as group leader David Degenerate focused on the U.S. Title hunt and Big Mutha Trucker wanted to take on the WWE Champion by himself. Trucker impressed with some solid victories and disrespected DMK, challenging him to a PPV match in order to prove that the "King" wasn't worth the gold he held. David's desire for gold pushed him quickly up the rankings, and he put another notch om the Coalition's list by upsetting Shawn Midnight in a #1 contender's match on Raw. After the victory, David immediately turned his attention to the current champ... and made life hell for him!
The rivalry between David and Antonio Jordan began as a simple title matchup but quickly devolved into a very personal feud. David sneered over Antonio's unrelenting patriotism and crowd-pandering, while Antonio viewed David as a disrespectful jerk who was only there to push buttons and cause trouble. Fans were excited to see these two polar opposites go head-to-head at the Extreme Rules PPV.
Another very personal feud developed very early in the month and led to an Extreme Rules matchup for the nakesake PPV. On the first Raw of the month, the Chaos Theory team of Renegade and Hitman Jack faced off against Parker & Coop in a normal tag team match. Everything seemed to be fine as the match progressed... but suddenly, Renegade attacked his own partner! The party animal unleashed a furious, unexpected attack during the match, and walked out. Parker & Coop took advantage of the attack and won the match, but several questions naturally arose. As it turned out, Renegade was frustrated over the lack of success he and Hitman had had as a team, and felt that he was being held back from his true potential. Hitman was clearly pissed off over the betrayal and vowed to prove that he was the better man. After several very brutal, visceral weekly encounters, both men agreed to settle their issues over an Extreme Rules match!

June
As June rolled around, the mood within the Raw brand superstars was beginning to become more and more tense. The Badass Coalition was becoming more and more powerful, while the relationship between WWE champ DMK and fellow Tag Team champ Shawn Midnight was becoming more and more strained. It was becoming clear that a war was developing, and lines were starting to be drawn in the sand.
The biggest news in the fallout of the Extreme Rules PPV was the U.S. Title victory by David Degenerate, although by nefarious means. But despite the controversy, the title gave the Badass Coalition a huge benchmark in their quest for power. Antonio Jordan opened the month by voicing his anger over David's dirty win, and wanted a rematch to show everyone what a fluke it was. Their personal feud continued, and David's arrogance angered Antonio as their rematch at The Bash PPV approached.
DMK and Big Mutha Trucker had a fierce non-title battle at the Extreme Rules PPV, but the "King" managed to pull out the win. But Trucker wasn't finished despite the loss, and this time he wanted another shot... with the title on the line! With the U.S. Title already in the Badass Coalition's possession, bringing in Raw's top prize and taking it away from their chief rival would be the biggest cherry on top. Trucker won a #1 contender's match to officially give himself the title shot he wanted, and DMK promised to make sure this match wouldn't be taken lightly!
DMK was actually poised to pull double-duty at the upcoming The Bash PPV, with Hell United's Tag Team Titles to be defended as well. The Tag Team Title match arose as a result of a few different developments. First, challengers Gravedigger and Zach Wesley earned their #1 contender's spot with a surprising rise up the tag team rankings. Despite the volatile relationship they had, 'Digger and the "Mohawked Maniac" had all the momentum heading into the PPV. Secondly, DMK and Shawn Midnight's partnership was starting to show cracks as the Badass Coalition applied more and more pressure. In an attempt to rectify the 2-match show that Shawn had to endure back at the Backlash PPV, DMK agreed to wrestle 2 title matches! The hopes was that, if successful, DMK would show his partner that he would be willing to do whatever it took to keep their friendship strong. DMK knew he needed a strong teammate if this budding war with the Badass Coalition was going to possibly worsen, so he didn't want to lose his closest ally. So therefore, Hell United planned to put the Tag Team Titles on the line against their unstable challengers, which made for an interesting PPV-opening dynamic!
Hitman Jack's Extreme Rules PPV victory over former Chaos Theory partner Renegade was bittersweet for the "Lethal Canadian". He was obviously glad to pick up a major victory, but at the same time... knowing the breakup was official made it a tough pill to swallow. Nevertheless, both Hitman and Renegade went their separate ways but animosity still existed between them.
