Backstage Segment
The cameras ventured backstage and entered the GM office for the evening, where a shocked Stephanie McMahon is standing. The Raw GM agreed to a deal during the WWE Title contract signing a few days ago, in which if David Degenerate retained his title against Mack Wheeler, then Steph would be removed from the GM job. Unfortunately for her... David kept his side of the deal! The "Dangerous Genius" won the final 2 stages of the Three Stages of Hell match she concocted to retain the title, which means the "Billion-Dollar Princess" no longer has control of the red brand! As she stared off in her stunned expression, the door opened and someone entered.
Mr. McMahon: "Stephanie, dear? Are you in here?"
Steph turned and watched her father enter the room, and her expression went from shock to disgust. The WWE Chairman, who been aligned with David for months, stepped into view and was followed by... 2 security guards! Vince stood with an arrogant smirk as Steph glared.
Stephanie: "Really, Dad? Is this necessary? Security guards?"
Mr. McMahon: "Well... I just want to make sure you are SAFE as you leave the building."
Stephanie: "Oh! So NOW you're concerned about my safety. Dad, sometimes you can be a real piece of..."
Mr. McMahon: "Whoa, whoa! I don't think foul language is necessary here. We made a deal and you have to honor that deal."
Stephanie scoffed and started quickly packing her things. As she packed, she kept glancing at her father's arrogant smile. Finally, she responded.
Stephanie: "Well... you got what you wanted, Dad. I'm gone as Raw GM. What are you going to do now? Who's going to replace me? Who's going to run Raw?"
Mr. McMahon: "You know... I haven't really given that much thought. I guess... I guess... I will have to run things until I can find a suitable replacement!"
That comment snapped Steph back to attention. She stood up with her jaw slightly ajar and replied.
Stephanie: "WHAT?! Are you kidding me?! You can't do that! You need an impartial person to run Raw..."
Mr. McMahon: "I CAN DO WHATEVER I WANT! I'm the WWE Chairman! If I decide to take control of a brand, then I will take control of the brand. There's no one that can override me!"
Stephanie was taken aback by her father's angry and aggressive response, and she can't find the words to respond. She still can't believe that her father would just simply assume her role, especially since he is so closely associated with Raw's top champion. She shook her head and continued to pack. Vince calmed himself and made another comment.
Mr. McMahon: "Ok... so anyway, I just came by to let you know that you are technically Raw GM until the end of the evening. Beginning tomorrow, I will take over your job as Raw's General Manager. So if you have any 'moves' left to make, I would make them quickly. We still have the rest of tonight's show to run, so please fulfill your duty... for tonight."
Vince exited the room and the security guards remained. Stephanie stopped packing for a moment and looked up in thought. Suddenly, a sly smile came over her face as the camera zoomed in. Stephanie's expression is the final image of the segment! What could she be thinking?

Backstage Interview
For weeks, strange vignettes have been playing during each Raw episode hinting at someone making a special appearance at the Royal Rumble. Moments after the post-match events from the U.S. Title match, yet another vignette played. Several of the same images of lightning, bad weather and a flexing man are shown. After a few seconds of images, the screen snapped to black and were followed by the words: "SEE THE LIGHTNING... FEEL THE THUNDER!"
The cameras then opened up backstage in the interview area, where we see Justin Roberts ready to conduct an interview. After receiving his cue, Justin spoke to the crowd. Justin: "Hello Atlanta! Tonight at the Royal Rumble, I am very pleased to conduct a special interview with someone who is making their debut. So without further ado, let me introduce you to... THUNDER!" The camera panned back to reveal a very large, muscular man. Thunder stands tall, with long blond hair and a very chiseled, oiled physique. Thunder had his fists pressed against his hips, trying to stand like a superhero. After a few seconds, Justin began the interview. Justin: "Thunder... you have decided to officially make your debut tonight and be a member of the 30-man Royal Rumble match. Why did you decide to debut in such an important match?" Thunder smirked and did a quick muscle flex before responding in a deep, booming voice. Thunder: "Important matches call for important competitors, and there's no one more important than Thunder. I'm the strongest and most beautiful specimen to ever grace the WWE. No one looks like me. No one excites the crowd more than me. No one wrestles better than me. I'm... simply the greatest!" Justin: "Wow! Strong words from a strong man!" Thunder: "No... not a strong man. The STRONGEST man! Have you seen this body? I'm like Adonis reincarnated! I'm Hercules in the flesh! I'm the result you get when you combine the strength of Atlas with the face of Brad Pitt! I'm GORGEOUS!" Justin: "Well, I mean..." Thunder: "Look at you! You're speechless! You've never seen someone like me, and neither has anybody else in the WWE. Tonight, I'm going to enter the Royal Rumble match and make an immediate impact. Who can stop someone with a body like this?" Thunder then went into a flexing craze, performing poses you would traditionally see at a bodybuilding competition. Justin stepped back and was confused by how to conduct the interview. Finally, Thunder stopped and snatched the microphone out of Justin's hands. He addressed the camera directly for a few final comments. Thunder: "This is a warning to all those watching. Get in Thunder's way and prepare to suffer the consequences. Tonight, everyone in the WWE will SEE THE LIGHTNING..." He quickly posed and flexed again, and then took a very deep and audible inhale. He exhaled slowly and finished his statement. Thunder: ".... and they'll FEEL... THE THUNDER!" Thunder smushed the microphone into Justin's chest, and the interviewer reacts in pain. Thunder chuckled and then walked off. Justin rubbed his chest and shook his head as the interview segment came to an end! |

Backstage Segment
The cameras switched backstage where we saw a very proud Mr. McMahon strutting down the hallway. He was obviously happy over the events earlier in the evening, when his pal David Degenerate retained the WWE Title which forced his daughter Stephanie McMahon to step down from her role as Raw GM. Steph and David had been at odds for months, and while Vince had tried unsuccessfully to be an impartial moderator, he finally appeared to take David's side. Vince appeared to be looking for someone in particular. He turned a corner and reacted warmly, approaching the crew member he desired.
Mr. McMahon: "Ah hello!"
Crew Member: "Hello, Mr. McMahon. Everything is ready for the Rumble match next."
Mr. McMahon: "Excellent! I'm excited for this match. Do you mind if I see the entry order?"
The crew member is holding a clipboard and Vince reaches out for it. But suddenly, the crew member pulls it away. Vince is taken aback and scowls angrily.
Mr. McMahon: "What are you-"
Crew Member: "I'm sorry, Mr. McMahon. Stephanie gave me a final order before she left earlier. She told me that no matter what, I was not allowed to show you the 30-man Royal Rumble entry list."
Mr. McMahon: "What?!"
Crew Member: "Yes sir. I apologize, but she said that you would understand since you gave her a chance to make some last-minute moves."
Vince recalls him saying something similar to that earlier, so his anger dissipated quickly. He laughed if off and gave the crew member a stiff pat on the back.
Mr. McMahon: "Ahh, Steph. What a character. I'm... really going to miss her around here. Hmm... Anyway, I guess if everything's ready to go then I will let you guys do your job."
Vince turned to leave but suddenly... David Degenerate walks right past him. The WWE Champion hadn't left yet despite his match taking place much earlier, and now he appeared to be heading towards ringside. The WWE Chairman reaches out to stop him.
Mr. McMahon: "Whoa, whoa David. Where... where are you going?"
David: "Oh... hey Vince. Didn't see you there."
Mr. McMahon: "Great win tonight, champ. Proud of you."
David: "Thanks, boss. Appreciate it."
Mr. McMahon: "Let's go celebrate! The crew's got the Rumble all handled so I figured we could go get a drink or something. How about champagne???"
Vince was very excited but the offer didn't really seem very appealing to the "Dangerous Genius". He met Vince's handshake but shook his head in response.
David: "Sorry, boss. No can do tonight. I'd actually like to watch the Rumble instead. I was actually going to head down to the commentary table and give my... insights on each of the participants."
Mr. McMahon: "Oh... well... I see. Okay, no big deal. You can meet me afterwards! The offer still stands."
David considered Vince's offer before replying.
David: "I'll think about it. I'll... give you a call. See you later, Vince."
David turned and walked away. Vince was a little confused at first but then brushed it off. Vince strutted back down the hallway as the segment ends!
Mr. McMahon: "Ah hello!"

30-Man Royal Rumble Match
The final match of the show would be the highly-anticipated Royal Rumble match, a 30-man over-the-top-rope battle royal that would give the winner a main-event WWE or World Heavyweight Title match at this year's WrestleMania. The fans were on the edge of their seats as the pre-match moments finished up and the first entry would be coming out. Suddenly, David Degenerate's music hit and the WWE champ strolled down to ringside! The Atlanta crowd booed him the whole way, but the "Genius" ignored them and joined the commentary team. David said that he was coming out to watch the match, just in case anybody would be willing to face him at WrestleMania. He also reported not being too concerned about the match outcome, and made a few other arrogant comments just before the match began.
1. Vincent Serum 2. Rusty
The "Vicious Vampire" and the reigning Cruiserweight Champion were the first 2 entrants for the match! The bell rang and they got underway quickly, battling tough for a bit until the next entrant appears.
3. Jester Price
The rookie came down to the ring next and interrupted the other two. The "World's Toughest Comedian" slid into the ring and immediately started to make jokes on them. He called Serum a "discount Dracula" and named Rusty "Averagest Joe" among other comments. Confused and annoyed... Serum and Rusty decided to double-team him and eliminated Jester from the match! It was a rare sign of teamwork and we already witnessed the first man out!
4. Joey Cooper 5. Zach Wesley 6. Craig Bullet
The next three entrants come out separately and the action starts to pick up. After Coop entered the match, Serum overpowered Rusty and eliminated the Cruiserweight champ. Next, the "Mohawked Maniac" made a long walk to the ring and targeted Serum right away. Wesley scored the elimination of the "Vampire" while Craig and Joey battled nearby. The former Olympian attacked the "High-Flyin' Criminal", but suddenly Zach snatched Coop and tossed him out onto the apron.
7. Antonio Jordan
The crowd gave a huge cheer when they hear the theme song of "America's Favorite" and Antonio raced down to the ring to get involved! Spotting Joey teetering on the ringside apron, Antonio took the chance and quickly pushed Joey down to the floor with his feet! Meanwhile, Craig attacked Zach on the other side of the ring when the next entrant appeared.
8. Krizz Torture
Antonio's American Cool partner was next and Antonio was surprised to see his pal come out right after him. Antonio turned his focus to Zach Wesley and started to fight with him near the corner. But when Krizz entered the ring, he also started fighting with the "Maniac". Antonio was confused and tried to pull his friend off, suggesting that Krizz go after other people in the match. The "2 Cool" superstar took offense, and they started to argue! A bit of shoving took place and Antonio's anger boiled over... so he eliminated his own tag team partner! The crowd was stunned by the move and so was Krizz! Krizz turned and glared up at his ally before the ringside officials asked him to leave. Antonio returned to the battle as the next person entered the match.
9. Anarchy 10. Tank Blazer 11. Big Mutha Trucker
The "Little Hellraiser" entered next, while Craig started to wear down Zach with several high-flying moves. Soon after, Tank Blazer entered the match and started to throw his weight around. The next entrant caught his attention though... new Hardcore champ Big Mutha Trucker! The "Resident Redneck" had just beaten Tank a few days ago on Monday Night Raw to win his 5th Hardcore Title, and now he had entered the Rumble right after his rival. Meanwhile, Antonio couldn't eliminate Anarchy on his first attempt, but as Trucker was heading to ringside, the "Mastermind" found a way to make his 2nd try successful to send Anarchy out. Tank found a way to eliminate a weakened Zach, and then turned his attention to Trucker. The Hardcore rivals battled it out, while Antonio started dominated everyone in the ring with a variety of moves. Tank tried to eliminate Trucker, but the "Redneck" managed to squirm free and stay in the match as the next entrant came down.
12. H.E.R.O. 13. Tony Bullet
The "Cali Dragon" made his way down, while Antonio and Trucker fought hard. Tank wasn't finished with his rival, so the "Captain" swooped in to eliminate the Hardcore champ from the match! Tony entered the match next, with apparently his sole purpose was to save his foster brother Craig from elimination. But unfortunately, that strategy went for naught as H.E.R.O. tossed the "Sneaky Villain" just seconds after he joined! Riding the momentum, H.E.R.O. then sent Tank Blazer to the showers! Back to back eliminations for the youngster!
14. Quinn Cadbury 15. Tommy Parker 16. Billy Carter
The Intercontinental champ joined the fray and went after Antonio right away, hoping to ruin his solid run. Quinn had Antonio against the ropes, but the "Mastermind" broke free of the attempt. Meanwhile, another former Olympian in Parker entered the match and was soon followed by the "Canadian Bomber"! As Billy headed to ringside, H.E.R.O. scored another elimination by sending Craig Bullet over the top rope.
17. Big Juan Santos 18. Paulie Dominos
H.E.R.O. and Antonio had lasted the longest so far, so they decided to fight each other hard. Meanwhile, Billy Carter knocked Parker out of the match but suffered a terrible fate when Quinn snuck in and tossed him out just seconds later! The Mexican brute was making his entrance around the same time and took his time heading down. After Big Juan climbed into the ring, a massive brawl broke out among the grapplers. In the chaos, Antonio caught a wayward elbow in the eye and fell against the ropes. H.E.R.O. spotted him in a weakened state, so the "Cali Dragon" pounced. To the shock of everyone in the arena, H.E.R.O. eliminated Antonio from the match! Paulie D. entered the match right after that, but H.E.R.O. maintained his focus... and eliminated "Mr. Amazing" quickly!
19. Ace 20. Hitman Jack
The Atlanta crowd erupted into cheers for the next 2 entrants, the "Ultimate Superstar" and then the ECW champ! While Ace soaked in the fans' cheers, Big Juan eliminated Quinn from the Rumble. Ace got himself involved in the fight, while H.E.R.O. continued to dominate. The "Cali Dragon" took out the Mexican rookie, giving him SIX eliminations so far! The "Lethal Canadian" and H.E.R.O.'s tag partner made an impact right away, getting a stunning elimination of Ace! Ace hit the floor and couldn't believe it, realizing he had only stayed in the match for a few minutes. The clock ticked down for the next entrant, and H.E.R.O. and Hitman shared a quick high-five before turning their attention to the stage. But H.E.R.O. had other ideas in mind, and his partner had totally just let his guard down. So... H.E.R.O. grabbed his partner and tossed him out of the match!!! The crowd was absolutely flabbergasted at H.E.R.O.'s move, and the ECW champ looked at his pal with bewilderment.
21. Shawn Midnight 22. Carson Pain
Shawn came down to the ring next, battling with H.E.R.O. until the next entrant. The crowd roared with approval when Carson's music hit, and "The Original" bounded to the ring excitedly! The winner of last year's Rumble was here and he was looking for a repeat victory! To start him off on the right foot, Carson teamed up with H.E.R.O. and they sent Shawn out of the match just as the clock ticked to zero.
23. Gravedigger
The haunting theme music for Gravedigger hit the speakers, and everyone knew that business was about to pick up! Gravedigger had won 3 out of 4 battle royal challenges in the lead-up to the Royal Rumble, and he entered the match right after rival Carson! Carson heard the music play and his jaw dropped as he looked at the stage. 'Digger appeared and strolled slowly to the ring, ready to prove himself worthy of winning the coveted title shot. Gravedigger climbed into the ring, and both of the other opponents stepped back slightly to allow him to enter. 'Digger walked over to Carson and glared at him just inches from his face. Carson appeared scared at first... but then a little smirk appeared on his face! 'Digger noticed the expression change... and Carson punched him right in the face! There's no fear in this ring! The "Graveyard Monster" became furious and responded by slamming Carson down to the mat viciously. H.E.R.O. felt he wanted no part of the big guy, so he started fighting with Carson. The next entrant caught 'Digger's eye.
24. Joseph T. Lutte 25. Lee Money
It was the "Fantastic Frenchman"! 'Digger had a long history with Joseph back on Smackdown, so he decided to brawl with the rich foreigner. H.E.R.O. had Carson reeling, but noticed Gravedigger really doing a number on Lutte. So instead of continuing his battle with "The Original", H.E.R.O. took advantage of 'Digger's dirty work... and eliminated Joseph from the match! Gravedigger then concerned himself with his rival while Lee Money made the next entry into the match. At commentary, David had been throwing out stray comments here and there, especially disrespectful comments about former rivals like Antonio Jordan and Carson Pain. He called Gravedigger a "big lump of coal" and laughed at Ace and Hitman Jack's misfortunes in the match.
26. Guy Justice
The man in search of "truth" came out, but he clearly came at the wrong time. Gravedigger had been getting double-teamed over and over, and he was angry and sick of dealing with it. So when the "True Savior" slid into the ring, 'Digger immediately grabbed him and started pounding on him! Justice was caught off-guard and couldn't find a way to fight back. With 'Digger overwhelming him, he couldn't stop the beating and was eliminated very quickly! 'Digger then turned his attention to H.E.R.O., who was making a very impressive run with NINE eliminations so far. But exhaustion was starting to set in for the youngster, and the "Monster" took advantage. A brutal series of moves had the "Cali Dragon" struggling, and he fell into the ropes after a stiff punch. Lee Money was fighting nearby and noticed H.E.R.O. teetering, so "Cash" ran over... and dropkicked him over the top! H.E.R.O. had a great run, but unfortunately would not be making it to the end!
27. Thunder
He's here! The debuting, dashing rookie was making his debut at the #27 spot in the Rumble! Earlier, the vain, muscular bodybuilder gave a very arrogant interview to introduce himself to the WWE and now he was ready to show off his in-ring skill. As Thunder flexed and taunted on his way to the ring, another shocking moment happened. Carson and Lee were teaming up on Gravedigger, who was trying to fight back valiantly. The teamwork paid off as they had him leaning over the ropes. Finally, with a little leverage and a big shove... they tossed him out of the match!!! Gravedigger vowed to win the Rumble, but his strategy failed! 'Digger roared in anger as the frightened officials tried to usher him away. Carson smiled brightly as he got revenge again on his rival, and the next entrant snapped him back to attention.
28. Travis Roarke 29. Rebel Ford
The "Assassin" entered next, and was soon followed by the rebellious one! Thunder was looking very impressive, with his strength and quickness despite his size standing out. The battle continued with 4 and then 5 men for a bit, with no one willing to give ground. At commentary, David was starting to become a little more arrogant with every new entrant. After Rebel made his way into the match, David remarked that he wasn't scared to face anybody in the ring at WrestleMania including Carson. The commentators reminded him that there was still another entry left, but David commented that it didn't matter who #30 was. The clock counted down the final 10 seconds, and Lee Money scored another elimination by tossing Roarke while Carson sent Rebel out just as the final buzzer sounded. A few anxious moments passed as the 4 remaining men watched the stage to see who would enter last. Suddenly...
30. DMK
*BONG*... *BONG*... and a familiar Metallica theme song hit! The Atlanta crowd comes UNGLUED as the music played, and everyone was in complete shock!!! DMK IS BACK! DMK IS BACK! DMK HAS FINALLY RETURNED!!! The fans screamed and cheered so loudly that the whole arena shook, and the expression on each man in the ring told the whole story. At commentary, David's jaw hit the floor and he stood up instinctively to watch his hated rival make his return from injury! It was a chaotic scene and DMK still hadn't appeared. Finally, the curtain pushed back... and the "King" walked out onto the stage! Feeling the energy, DMK raised his arms and gave a big yell as he started to head down to the ring! David's shock sunk in more and the WWE champ could not believe what he was seeing! Months ago, he tried to end DMK's career by smashing into his car with a truck... and now, DMK was back at the #30 spot in the Rumble and could win a WrestleMania title shot against him!
DMK became super focused as he entered the match, and made an impact right away. He slammed down Carson and then eliminated Lee Money moments later! It was officially down to 3 men: Thunder, Carson and DMK. With Carson reeling from DMK's slam, the "King" stood toe-to-toe with the debuting rookie! Thunder and DMK talked a little trash and then the punches started flying! DMK tried hard to knock the rookie out, but the "Strongest Stud" held his own and avoided elimination twice! Finally, DMK's anger amped up and he whipped Thunder hard into the ropes. DMK then snatched the rookie by the throat, lifted him up... and chokeslammed him out of the ring! The impressive move showed everyone that DMK was back to 100% health and he was ready to win the Rumble!
There was, of course, still one person left to overcome: Carson Pain. "The Original" rose up to his feet and the two former rivals circled each other. They gestured towards the WrestleMania sign hanging in the rafters and the crowd was on their feet cheering wildly. One of these men would earn a spot in the WrestleMania main event! Carson won last year and could do it again, while a victory for DMK would be the perfect mark along his journey back to the WWE Title. The men then engage in an epic final battle, with several near-eliminations driving the fans crazy. Carson was tired but was determined to hold on. After a few minutes, DMK finally managed to knock Carson down and stepped back into the ropes to breathe.
David had been watching this final encounter very intently and with a worried expression on his face. The commentators tried to engage him, but now he was unwilling to talk. When DMK leaned against the ropes, David sprung into action! The WWE champ grabbed the "King" from behind, and desperately tried to pull him over the top rope. DMK was caught off-guard at first, but maintained his balance and fought him off. In one swift move, DMK pushed David back... and then punched him hard right in the face! The "Genius" tumbled down to the floor below, and DMK went to attack Carson to try and end the match before any more shenanigans could take place. After tossing an exhausted Carson into the ropes, DMK lifted him up and over... and "The Original" fell down to the floor!
The bell rang and the crowd went crazy, as DMK had won the Royal Rumble!
WINNER: DMK
1. Vincent Serum 2. Rusty

WINNER: DMK
Post-Match Segment
DMK raised his arms proudly and the crowd cheered, shouted and sent out their approval! He took a moment to compose himself, but the smile on his face said it all! DMK was going to WrestleMania! Outside the ring, Carson nodded at him in a sign of respect while David couldn't even bring himself to look at his happy rival. DMK pointed at the WrestleMania sign as pyrotechnics blasted around the arena, signaling the huge victory!
The show ended with DMK's proud face and the endearing crowd showing love all around him! |
