Renegade's often insane antics and promos can make him a fan favorite one day and a hated villain the next. The man bent on revolutionizing the WWE and taking no prisoners along the way got his motivation way back in the snowy mountains of Colorado. An orphan after his drug-addict teen parents gave him up for adoption, he spent the majority of his childhood bouncing from foster home to foster home. He was regularly in trouble in school and found fighting, drugs and alcohol as an emotional release. His life was spinning out of control with no one to stop it, but all it took was one bad night to turn his life around. After partying all night with several of his "friends", Renegade passed out due to a drug overdose. Luckily, he was found by an innocent bystander and woke up in the hospital after a multi-day coma. When he awoke, a friendly nurse stayed by his side and slowly nursed him back to health over several months. Despite going through a tough array of withdrawal symptoms, Renegade stayed sober and regained his strength. At the advice of the friendly nurse that showed him so much care, Renegade decided to enter a sober-living facility in an attempt to stay clean. During his stay, he met a former pro wrestler and the two became friends. Renegade's interest in pro wrestling grew and got a chance to enter a training camp thanks to a good word put in by his wrestler friend. At the camp, Renegade's natural athletic gifts showed through and he quickly impressed the instructors. The control and strength in his legs naturally led him to use several kick moves, and he found ways to move quickly and swiftly around the ring. After only 5 months at camp, he was signed by an independent circuit and quickly moved up the ranks. But Renegade found the constant travel and wear-and-tear tough to handle... as his drug and alcohol habits would begin to creep back in. His on-and-off vices led to inconsistent performances, but when he was on he was arguably the best performer in the ring. Despite rumors and history of his drug and alcohol abuse, WWE signed Renegade to a contract and assigned him a mentor to monitor his behavior. With WWE officials keeping an eye on his out-of-the-ring actions, Renegade continued to impress in the ring and on the mic. His almost-bipolar demeanor keeps the fans on their toes and makes him an intriguing and entertaining competitor. Career Overview Year 1: Began the year in a team alongside Hitman Jack known as Chaos... At the Backlash PPV, he participated in an inter-promotional 6-man battle royal as a representative of the Raw brand but failed to pick up a win... In May, Renegade made a shocking heel turn by turning against Hitman Jack in a tag team match on an episode of Raw... This led to a feud between bitter former partners, culminating in an Extreme Rules match at the Extreme Rules PPV, in which Hitman Jack won... In July he earned the right to compete for the newly-reinstated Hardcore Title in a 4-way match at the Night of Champions PPV, but former friend Hitman Jack won the belt... In August, Rebel Ford made his debut and their common ideologies allowed them to form a new team named Theory of Revolution... They began to feud against the Good As Hell team of DMK, Antonio Jordan and Corey Youngblood and at the Summerslam PPV, they teamed up with U.S. champ David Degenerate against the rival trio in a 6-man tag match main event, but the Good As Hell team won... In September the Theory of Revolution team added a female element as Divas champ Melina joined them... In October, Renegade picked up his first title victory by winning the Hardcore Title on an episode of Raw... His title reign only lasted a month as Big Mutha Trucker claimed the title in November... At the Survivor Series PPV, he competed in a 20-man battle royal for a potential title shot and finished as one of the remaining 4 competitors, but Hitman Jack won the match to earn the title shot... In January, he competed in the 30-man Royal Rumble match at the Royal Rumble PPV... Despite initially appearing as a heel group, the Theory of Revolution team became very popular quickly and Renegade started to become a face character... In February, Renegade earned his first WWE Title opportunity by earning a spot in the Elimination Chamber match... At the Elimination Chamber PPV, Renegade had an impressive showing but was the first man eliminated and David Degenerate went on to win the title... In March, Renegade challenged for another WWE Title shot and a Triple Threat Hell in a Cell match involving champ David and former champ Antonio Jordan was made for WrestleMania... At WrestleMania, Renegade seemed poised to win the title but David won in cheap fashion to retain Year 2: Began the year still in the hunt for the WWE Title... He challenged David again for the title, but new #1 contender and Raw draftee Carson Pain and Big Mutha Trucker also made legit claims and a 4-way title match was made for the Backlash PPV... Again, Renegade had a victory moment snatched from him again as David retained the belt... In May, Renegade won a #1 contender's match and finally earned a one-on-one title match against David... At the Extreme Rules PPV, Renegade surprised all by winning the match and claiming the WWE Title... In June, Rebel and Melina turned against him and the Theory of Revolution team split... David challenged for a rematch at The Bash PPV, but Renegade was able to retain the title... In July, Big Mutha Trucker earned a title shot and the two faced off at the Night of the Champions PPV, but Renegade again was able to retain the title... But immediately following that match, DMK cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase in shocking fashion and defeated Renegade quickly to win the WWE Title... DMK turned heel and claimed that Renegade wasn't worthy of the WWE Title, which led to the party animal challenging him to a rematch at the Summerslam PPV in a Last Man Standing match... At Summerslam, DMK won in brutal fashion and attempted to cause more damage after the match, but Renegade was saved by Lee Money... Renegade and Lee formed a team in September... In October, he participated in a 6-man Hell in a Cell match to possibly earn a WWE Title match at Survivor Series, but Smackdown's Ace pinned DMK to win the match and earn a World Heavyweight Title match... Renegade supported Lee as his partner captured his first Cruiserweight Title in November, but the following month saw DMK attack Lee backstage which caused Renegade to renew his rivalry with the WWE champ... Renegade and Shawn Midnight challenged for a WWE Title match at the TLC PPV, but DMK won the match to retain the title again... In January, he had an excellent showing in the 30-man Royal Rumble match and finished as one of the final men left but could not win... In March, Renegade and Lee turned heel and began a feud with Travis Roarke and Dylan Dynamite... Renegade and Travis got involved in the Hardcore Title feud, and he competed in a Scramble match at WrestleMania against champ Brett Diamond, Shawn Midnight, H.E.R.O. and Travis... Brett won the match to retain the Hardcore Title Year 3: Began the year still feuding with Travis Roarke and Dylan Dynamite... In May, he and Travis began a best-of-5 series of matches to prove who was the "toughest" competitor on the Raw brand... Renegade eventually won the series by winning the 5th and final match at the Extreme Rules PPV... In June, he participated in the King of the Ring Tournament and reached the PPV final after winning the Raw side of the bracket... He faced Smackdown winner Eric Executioner at the King of the Ring PPV, but Eric won the match and earned a World Heavyweight Title shot... Despite losing his chance to earn a WWE Title shot, Renegade turned his focus towards the U.S. Title... He won a battle royal to become the new #1 contender and began to feud with champ Big Mutha Trucker... At the Night of Champions PPV, Renegade needed 3 finishing kicks to defeat the "Redneck" to win his 1st U.S. Title... A post-match attack angered Trucker, and their feud continued into August... Renegade lost a non-title match to Trucker which granted his rival the chance to choose the stipulation for their title rematch... Trucker chose a Extreme Rules Falls Count Anywhere match, but at the Summerslam PPV, Renegade used an insane jump off a ladder perched in the ring to put Trucker through the announce table and pinned him to retain the title... Throughout September, Renegade began showing strange behaviors including random disappearances during episodes of Raw... He took a forfeit loss to Dylan Dynamite after he didn't show up for the match and abandoned his partner Lee Money, which turned a scheduled tag match into an impromptu handicap match (that Lee eventually lost)... His odd behavior caught the attention of Raw GM Stephanie McMahon, who threatened to strip Renegade of the U.S. Title if he disappeared again... In October, Stephanie initiated a Beat-the-Clock Challenge to find the new #1 contender for the U.S. Title, which was won by Brett Diamond... Renegade tried to prevent Brett from keeping that spot, but his various schemes failed... At the Judgment Day PPV, Brett upset Renegade to win the U.S. Title... The next night on Raw, Renegade attacked Lee Money to end their partnership... His rivalry with Brett developed over the next few weeks, leading to a Tables match challenge for December's PPV... At the TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs PPV, Renegade won back the U.S. Title in a controversial finish where both men went through the table at the same time... In January, he continued to feud with Brett while showing more erratic behavior... At the Royal Rumble PPV, he needed every last ounce of energy to defeat the "Professional" and retain the U.S. Title... In February, he attacked Brett backstage and drew the ire of Lee Money... "Cash" attacked him back and demanded to face him in a steel cage match, which Lee was able to win in brutal fashion... Lee then challenged Renegade to a U.S. Title match and surprisingly beat Renegade at the Elimination Chamber PPV to win that title for the first time... The "Party Animal" then asked for a rematch but was unable to win the U.S. Title back on the final Raw episode of March |
