Year 2
July
With summer causing temperatures to rise across the globe, the heat was also being turned up on Raw. The biggest development was the continued reign of WWE champ Renegade. The popular party animal had just gone through a month of hell, losing his Theory of Revolution allies, battling the hungry Badass Coalition and preparing for a title rematch against David Degenerate. But luckily, Renegade kept his cool and defeated David in a dangerous Inferno match to retain his title. Despite knocking David down off his pedestal, Renegade's feud with the Badass Coalition continued. A power struggle within the group developed, as Trucker and David had a passive-aggressive battle for leadership. It developed into a #1 contender's match, where the "Resident Redneck" shocked everyone by beating his long-time ally to give himself a WWE Title shot! The reigning Hardcore champ had a burst of confidence after becoming the new WWE Title challenger, despite the continued breakdown of his alliance with David. Trucker and Renegade kept their focus on each other as the Night of Champions PPV approached, and fans were excited to see if Renegade could overcome another tough challenge!
Speaking of David, the "Dangerous Genius" was frustrated after weeks of unfortunate setbacks. After losing his WWE Title and failing to regain it in a rematch, and then losing to his own ally in a #1 contender's match, it seemed like David's power hold was weakening. Sensing the change, David started to target those who he felt were threats to his status. Former rivals like Carson Pain, Shawn Midnight and others became focal points for David's path of redemption, and the "Genius" started remaking enemies!
In other news, Travis Roarke was angry after losing the U.S. Title back to Rebel Ford at last month's PPV. The "Assassin" set out to get a rematch, but he found an ally along the way. Dylan Dynamite, the disposed former member of the Badass Coalition, joined forces with Roarke and helped him in his rivalry against Rebel. The rebellious champ did his best to maintain his confidence heading into the title rematch ahead!
Mr. Money in the Bank, the brooding DMK, continued to help Renegade battle the Badass Coalition but people were starting to wonder what his cash-in plan was. With pseudo-ally Renegade still WWE champ and going strong, it appeared that DMK wouldn't betray his friend. Would he wait for a new champ? Would he try for a lower-level title? Would he cross brands and challenge a Smackdown champ? The "King" maintained a low profile and didn't give a signal in any way towards his plans, despite rumors and speculation spreading like wildfire.

August
The shockwave set off my DMK's successful cash-in at the previous month's Night of Champions PPV had fans in utter bewilderment. DMK had held the Money in the Bank briefcase since his victory at WrestleMania, with no mention of a plan to cash it in. Not only that, but DMK had recently been supporting and helping WWE champ Renegade in his feud with the Badass Coalition. But moments after Renegade's successful title defense against Big Mutha Trucker, DMK appeared with the briefcase in tow. The inital shock struck the entire arena silent, as confusion spread quickly through the crowd. The party animal himself couldn't understand why DMK was taking that opportunity to cash in, but the "King" showed no emotion as he quickly defeated the exhausted champ to win his 2nd WWE Title.
The night after, everyone's fears were realized when the long-time fan favorite turned heel and became an angry, resentful and powerful champion. DMK resented Renegade's rise to the title and decided to ruin the party animal's reign in very humiliating fashion. DMK delivered an nasty monologue to open the first show of the month, revealing his personality change and turning the fans against him. The ex-champ appeared soon after, announcing his intention to get revenge for DMK's harsh betrayal. An intense feud quickly grew, and both men remained hell-bent on destroying each other. Renegade was determined to win the title back at any cost, and felt a basic rematch was not enough to do it. The party animal put forth a dangerous challenge... a Last Man Standing match! DMK agreed and the crowd was very excited to watch this main event go down!
U.S. champ Rebel Ford entered August fresh off a title defense at Night of Champions, but he quickly got pulled into a multi-man rivalry with his championship as the main prize. First, David Degenerate made Rebel his main target and vowed to take back the U.S. Title he lost months ago. Meanwhile, Carson Pain & Shawn Midnight developed a feud of their own based on who the better wrestler was. Needing something tangible to settle the score, Carson & Shawn recognized an opportunity to involve themselves in the U.S. Title picture. David's decision to re-ignite rivalries with both Carson and Shawn, including a unwarranted backstage attack on "The Original" during last month's PPV, seemed to backfire. The developments led to a Fatal 4-Way U.S. Title match at the upcoming Summerslam PPV!
Big Mutha Trucker fell short of winning the WWE Title last month against Renegade, but he still remained Hardcore champ. But a new challenger emerged, and he had also fell short in a title match at the previous PPV. Travis Roarke was unable to reclaim the U.S. Title, and the tough brawler decided to enter the Hardcore division. The "Assassin" feuded with Trucker all month long, eventually challenging the "Resident Redneck" to a title match on the final episode of Superstars this month. In a stunning moment, Travis upset Trucker and ended his 83-day reign with his 1st Hardcore Title victory!

MAJOR HISTORICAL MOMENT:
DMK's Heel Promo the Day After Night of Champions PPV
A buzz rumbled throughout the arena as the crowd waited anxiously for the show to begin, and the shock of DMK's Money in the Bank cash-in last night at the Night of Champions PPV was still very apparent. And speak of the devil... DMK's pyro and music hit to start the show! The crowd gave a very mixed reaction to the new WWE champ as he walked down the ramp slowly, gazing around to study the many faces in the stands. Why did DMK cash in on Renegade, who everyone including the party animal himself assumed that DMK was his friend? You could tell the fans wanted answers, and wanted them now!
DMK climbed into the ring, laid his WWE title at his feet and set off his signature corner pyro. He casually walked over and grabbed a microphone, tossed his title belt over his shoulder and began to speak.
DMK: "I can tell by the looks on your faces that you want to know why I did... what I did... last night. Don't worry. I will explain that decision and more very soon."
The crowd can sense an evil tone in DMK's voice. Was the "King" turning... heel?
DMK: "When I lost the WWE Title last October and was denied a rematch due to the stipulations, it set off a fire inside that burned deep and painfully. I knew I had made a fatal mistake and I wanted badly to get another chance. But I failed at the Royal Rumble, I failed at Elimination Chamber... but I was not going to fail at WrestleMania. I knew that I had to do something to get another shot, so I qualified for the Money in the Bank Ladder Match and prepared hard, which allowed me to capture the coveted briefcase. Now that I had it, my next thought was... who was I going to use it on?"
The crowd seems uneasy as DMK paces the ring.
DMK: "Now David had the title at the time, but I wanted payback man-to-man and it was obvious that I wasn't going to get that with or without the briefcase. Then... Renegade pulls off a huge win and wins the belt. And ALL OF YOU... fell for him. You loved him, you adored him! You thought... this is the champion we need! And this whole time, I'm sitting around watching him battle the same rival group I've been trying to overcome for 2 years... and I'm getting no love, no recognition. I'm just a afterthought in this war for the power on Raw. And that... made the fire inside swell to unbearable conditions."
DMK starts to seem a little angry as he continues.
DMK: "So I made a conscious decision. If I wasn't going to get the recognition I deserved... then I was going to take it away from the one man who doesn't deserve it. And I suckered both HIM and ALL OF YOU into this falsehood of safety and security and waited patiently for the right time. I helped Renegade, teamed up with him and played the role of happy sidekick... when in reality, I was planning a strike that would ROCK everyone. How could you support such a weak-minded champion? How could you devote yourself to a man more concerned with his next hit or buzz than how to conduct himself as champion? Watching that made me sick to my stomach... and I had to stop it."
The crowd is now starting to react negatively.
DMK: "So last night, I watched carefully from backstage as Renegade completed his 2nd title defense and again warmed the crowd over with his outrageous antics... and then I took a deep breath... and set my plan in motion. And of course... it worked like a charm. The betrayed look on Renegade's face and all of your shocked expressions was a glorious sight. And of course... I walked out as the NEW WWE Champion. And here I stand before you... the champion you all DESERVE."
The crowd now starts to boo as DMK holds the WWE title belt high and slowly turns around to gaze the faces throughout the arena. He smiles and gives an evil glare, which enrages the crowd even more.
Then suddenly... Renegade's music hits!!! The crowd goes wild and DMK turns to look at the stage with a scowl. The party animal bursts through the curtains and the crowd roars more, but he does not seem to be in a good mood. He quickly paces back and forth on the stage, trying to calm his rage before he speaks. He then pauses and begins.
Renegade: "Dude... you are seriously a confused individual."
The crowd cheers and DMK turns his nose up a bit, glaring at the ex-champ.
Renegade: "I trusted you, man... I trusted you, I thanked you for your help and you STAB ME IN THE BACK. The one thing I had been working my whole life for was to win the WWE Title and I win it and had worked hard to defend it... and you cash in that stupid briefcase. I had to go through hell to beat both David Degenerate AND Big Mutha Trucker, and you cash in for a title shot just SECONDS after I win. You claim to be the champion these people 'deserve'? YOU ARE THE WEAK CHAMPION!"
The crowd cheers and DMK snarls in anger.
Renegade: "So I'm going to make this simple for you. I want my rematch. I want it at the Summerslam PPV. I want to prove to everyone on the biggest stage that you just made the biggest mistake of your career. And I'm going to start proving that... TONIGHT. Better watch your back... BITCH!"
The crowd cheers again as Renegade drops the mic and walks backstage with a fist in the air, while DMK breathes deeply and tries to calm his anger. The crowd starts chanting for Renegade as the intense segment ends!

September
September began with the emotional fallout from DMK and Renegade's vicious Last Man Standing battle at Summerslam, where the "King" retained his WWE Title. After the match, DMK attempted to attack an injured Renegade further but was saved by Lee Money at the last second. Lee's stunning altruism made him an immediate ally with the party animal, although Renegade could not physically continue his feud with DMK. Needing a new challenger for DMK's belt, a Fatal 4-Way was held to determine the #1 contender. In an suprising yet impressive performance, Tank Blazer emerged victorious and gave himself his first WWE Title match! The "Captain" had feuded with DMK for well over a year through the Badass Coalition, but had never matched up with the "King" in a one-on-one rivalry. Fans were still recovering from DMK's shocking heel turn, and were unsure to embrace Tank as the potential "good guy" savior after years of spurning the crowd. But as Tank started to realize his chance to score a major personal and public victory, he slowly started to win the fan's favor. The Hell in a Cell stipulation was added to the match, raising the stakes even more and putting both men in a more dangerous situation. As the PPV approached, the rivalry intensified and everyone started to sense that a crazy, vicious war was going to main event the show!
At Summerslam, the U.S. Title was defended in a 4-way battle and David Degenerate outlasted all to claim his 2nd U.S. Title. The "Dangerous Genius" was back to his boastful ways after a rough summer, but ex-champ Rebel Ford was in no mood. Rebel and David continued their feud throughout the month, and a rematch was scheduled for the Hell in a Cell PPV. Fans were desperate to see Rebel grab the title back quickly, while David appeared ready to go on another lengthy reign!
The Hardcore Title scene became more prominent this month, especially after Travis Roarke's surprising upset of Big Mutha Trucker just days before Summerslam. The "Assassin" ended Trucker's 3rd title reign, and a very brutal rivalry developed between them. After months of Hardcore Title matches being pushed to weekly shows, the battle for Raw's toughest man was heading back to a PPV slot! Travis and the "Resident Redneck" were ready to go for blood on a bigger stage in a title rematch.
In the Divas' Title scene, champ Michelle McCool and rival Melina had been feuding for months. After Michelle was drafted over from Smackdown in April and ended Melina's year-plus reign at that month's Backlash PPV, the Hollywood starlet had been battling in hopes of reclaiming the belt. Sensing a possible last chance title shot, Melina was ready to leave it all in the ring at the Hell in a Cell PPV. Michelle's confidence had been growing with each successful title defense, and she was ready to put Melina away and move on to a new challenge. Something had to give at the PPV, and fans were curious to see which woman would score the big win!
