Growing up in Queens, New York allowed Carson to visit Madison Square Garden regularly and enjoy the memorable pro wrestling moments that took place. Those moments inspired Carson to choose pro wrestling as his life-long profession. After a successful high school and college wrestling career, Carson signed with a New York-based independent promotion and immediately won the fans over. His unbelievable athleticism, entertaining charisma and energy caught the fan's attention and Carson quickly became the top face in the promotion. He earned the "Original" nickname due to his amazing blend of speed, strength and intelligence that almost no other grappler could match. Fans cheered loudly whenever he entered an arena, and his trademark ring slide-in drove the females crazy. After winning the promotion's mid-card title twice and their heavyweight title 3 times, WWE came calling with a big-time offer. Carson entered the WWE and his fan base began to number in the millions. Carson was rolling on a path destined for superstardom. Career Overview Year 1: Quickly rose up the ranks, mostly thanks to a 6-man battle royal victory at the Backlash PPV... In June he became the #1 contender for the Intercontinental Title and defeated Travis Roarke at The Bash PPV to claim his first reign... In July, a long feud began against Eric Executioner as his narcissistic rival became the #1 contender for the Intercontinental Title... At the Night of Champions PPV, Eric actually beat Carson by DQ due to a chaotic scene involving the belt itself but Carson retained the title... He was determined to prove that he could beat Eric fairly and offered another title match to his rival, and he forced Eric to submit at the Summerslam PPV... In September, while still Intercontinental champ he became the #1 contender for the World Heavyweight Title held by Ace and was scheduled for 2 matches at the Hell in a Cell PPV... In his first match he lost the Intercontinental Title to rival Eric but shocked all by outlasting Ace in a Hell in a Cell match to win the World Heavyweight Title... In October, his rivalries with Eric and Ace combined with other feuds to create a "Good vs. Evil" 6-man tag match at the Bragging Rights PPV, in which his team including Gravedigger and Antonio Jordan defeated Eric, Ace and Big Mutha Trucker... In November, Eric climbed the ranks and became the #1 contender to Carson's World Heavyweight Title... The narcissist was also Intercontinental champ and vowed to best Carson's former feat and win both title matches at the Survivor Series PPV... On a personal note, Carson began a relationship with Kelly Kelly and they would eventually be known as the "Golden Couple"... At Survivor Series, Eric lost the Intercontinental Title to Gravedigger but defeated Carson in the main event to win the World Heavyweight Title... Carson demanded a rematch on the following episode of Smackdown but Smackdown GM Teddy Long pushed the match to the TLC PPV and made it an official TLC match... At the TLC PPV, Kelly Kelly won the Women's Title and Carson outlasted Eric in a "Match of the Year" candidate to reclaim the World Title... At the Royal Rumble PPV in January, Carson retained the World Title again against Eric but the narcissist won the 30-man Royal Rumble match to give himself a title match at WrestleMania... In February, several men including Eric qualified for an Elimination Chamber match for Carson's World Heavyweight Title, but "The Original" was still able to retain the belt at the Elimination Chamber PPV... The buildup to WrestleMania was intense as Carson and Eric were again going to face off, but Eric beat Carson in the main event to reclaim the World Heavyweight Title Year 2: Was drafted to the Raw brand and in his first match, he won a ladder match to become the #1 contender for the WWE Title... But several other men laid justifiable claims to David Degenerate's WWE Title and a Fatal 4-Way match was made for the Backlash PPV, in which David retained the belt... After the match, Kelly Kelly came down to the ring and delivered a cheap shot to Carson's manhood, ending their relationship and turning her heel... Carson's disdain for the Badass Coalition got him involved in DMK's ongoing feud with the stable, and he teamed up with DMK and Antonio Jordan at the Extreme Rules PPV to defeat the squad of Tank Blazer, Big Mutha Trucker and Ace... Surprisingly had no PPV matches throughout June or July, but he was attacked backstage by David Degenerate at the Night of Champions PPV and a building feud with Shawn Midnight led to a U.S. Title opportunity... At the Summerslam PPV, he participated in a Fatal 4-Way TLC match against U.S. champ Rebel Ford, David Degenerate and Midnight but David was able to win the title... In October, he and Midnight both challenged David for the U.S. Title and a Triple Threat match was made for the Bragging Rights PPV, but David retained the belt and attacked Carson with a chair after the match... In response to the post-match attack, Carson demanded and was granted a one-on-one U.S. title match against David at the Survivor Series PPV, in which Carson forced David to submit to win his first U.S. Title... Carson retained against David in a TLC match at the TLC PPV... In January, Carson won the 30-man Royal Rumble match at the Royal Rumble PPV to earn a WWE Title shot at WrestleMania... In February, the Hell's Genius team of WWE champ DMK and David Degenerate attacked Carson repeatedly and David challenged Carson to another U.S. Title match... At the Elimination Chamber PPV, DMK's distraction allowed David to win cheaply over Carson to reclaim the U.S. Title... In March, Carson and DMK had an intense feud and at WrestleMania, Carson accomplished a life-long dream by upsetting DMK to win the WWE Title Year 3: Began the year as the reigning WWE champ and continued to feud with DMK... At the Backlash PPV, Carson narrowly defeated DMK due to a video distraction... DMK demanded a rematch at the Extreme Rules PPV, and a returning Gravedigger caused a DQ loss for Carson by attacking DMK during the title match... Throughout June, Gravedigger and Carson had multiple physical altercations but "The Original" always seemed to end up on the wrong side of the brawls... But Gravedigger's focus was actually on DMK, and they faced off at the King of the Ring PPV in a No DQ match... At the PPV, Carson interfered on DMK's behalf in hopes of dishing out a little payback, but Gravedigger ended up claiming victory anyway... In July, Gravedigger turned his focus towards Carson and his WWE Title, but DMK also held a legitimate claim to a title shot as well and a Triple Threat title match was made... At the Night of Champions PPV, Carson used a late desperation chair shot onto DMK and pinned Gravedigger to retain the title... The controversial finish to the match and Carson's guilt over his actions led to another multi-man title match, but another challenger was introduced by Mr. McMahon - David Degenerate!... A Fatal 4-Way Elimination match was made for Summerslam, but David outlasted Carson last thanks to Mr. McMahon's help to win the WWE Title... Carson set out to get a rematch, but was forced into tough matches by the WWE Chairman throughout September... Finally, Raw GM Stephanie McMahon intervened and granted Carson his rematch, much to the dismay of Mr. McMahon and WWE champ David... At the Hell in a Cell PPV, Carson and David squared off but the "Genius" faked an injury and deliberately took a countout loss to preserve his WWE Title reign... The feud between Carson and David continued into October, where Raw GM Stephanie McMahon scheduled a Steel Cage match for the next PPV... At the Judgment Day PPV, Carson appeared ready to win by crawling out the door, but Mr. McMahon shoved the referee and the door slammed into Carson's face... The interference allowed David to escape the cage to retain the title... In November, Carson was given the opportunity to choose the match type for another WWE Title battle with David, and he chose a 60-minute Iron Man match... At Survivor Series, the two rivals had a Match of the Year candidate, but David won 2-1 by controversial means... Carson received another chance to face David the following night on Raw, including stipulations where if David cheated or lost by DQ or countout, he would lose the title... David beat Carson cleanly to retain again... Carson attempted to earn back the #1 contender spot against Mack Wheeler, but Gravedigger interfered to attack Carson and help Mack win... The "Graveyard Monster" re-ignited the feud between himself and Carson, leading to a First Blood match at the December PPV... At TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs, Gravedigger forced Carson to bleed first to win the match... Carson was absent from Raw for the first few weeks of January, assuming to be recovering from injuries suffered in the First Blood match... He returned during the "go-home" show days before the PPV, eliminating Gravedigger last in a 4-man battle royal... At the Royal Rumble PPV, Carson entered the Royal Rumble match in hopes of winning for the 2nd consecutive year... He entered at #22, assisted in eliminating Gravedigger again, but ultimately finished as runner-up to a returning DMK... In February, he was chosen to compete in the Elimination Chamber match for DMK's WrestleMania WWE Title shot and continued to feud with Gravedigger and others... In the Chamber match, he was eliminated by Big Juan Santos midway through the match... In March, Gravedigger took out his frustration with his own shortcomings on Carson, attacking "The Original" backstage multiple times and they agreed to face off at WrestleMania in a Last Man Standing match... Carson also wanted to be in DMK's corner for his WrestleMania match, but Mr. McMahon forced him to earn it by adding a stipulation to his match against Gravedigger... At the PPV, Carson won the match but Gravedigger brutally attacked him after the match, which put his chance to assist DMK in jeopardy... During the WWE Title main event, Carson was able to come out in moment of need, attacking Mr. McMahon and pulling him away from ringside, allowing DMK to chance he needed to win the match and the title |
