Big Mutha Trucker was raised in a poor, trailer park culture and used professional wrestling as an emotional and physical release. His often-absent father would take him to local wrestling shows, where Trucker would boo the heels and cheer the faces like any other awe-inspired young kid. After barely making it through high school, Trucker earned a job as a long-distance semi trucker but still had high hopes of entering the wrestling world. He continued to attend shows in his spare time, and finally gathered enough cash to enter a wrestling training camp. Trucker's enthusiasm and work ethic immediately caught the eyes of the trainers, and he graduated the camp as the star pupil. Instead of trucking semis across the country, Trucker now could travel doing the job he loved. Unfortunately, it took a while for fans to catch on to Trucker. He went through several ring name changes and character adjustments, but each role earned more jeers and "Boring!" chants from the unrelenting crowds. He bounced around several independent federations, and started to creep into his early 30's. After getting released from an independent promotion in Alabama, Trucker seemed very cynical and angry about the pro wrestling world. After getting a call from another promotion in Georgia, Trucker decided he was simply going to be himself and approach the new job with a more angrier mentality. The new approach impressed the owners, and fans began to take to Trucker's angry heel character. Fans started to boo, but in a more meaningful way... Trucker had found his calling. The white trash, Southern badass quickly moved up the chain and won the Georgia promotion's heavyweight title. His new momentum caught the eye of the WWE, who offered Trucker a contract at the age of 35. Trucker accepted and his dream finally came true.
