The two Japanese luchadors came to the WWE almost out of thin air. According to rumors, Alpha and Omega were trained in a secret Japanese wrestling circuit and taught many strange yet effective moves, grapples and techniques. Their matches in Japan were never televised, yet the legend of their successes spread fast by word of mouth. The mystery surrounding them forced the WWE to sign them to contract in hopes of releasing their wrath upon the tag team division. Career Overview Year 1: Made Smackdown debut in January with partner Omega... In a surprising upset, they defeated the then-current Tag Team champions (Bullet Boyz) in their first match... Participated in the 30-man Royal Rumble match in January at the Royal Rumble PPV... Remained unbeaten as a team for the remainder of the year Year 2: Was drafted to Raw brand along with partner Omega at the beginning of April... In May, he earned a Cruiserweight title shot and won the title in a rousing contest over Lee Money on Raw... Held the Cruiserweight Title until July, in which he was eliminated in a 6-man battle royal that saw Tommy Parker capture the championship... In August, he was given another Cruiserweight Title opportunity in a 4-man battle royal but was not successful... As a team, Alpha & Omega remained unbeaten until losing to Travis Roarke & Dylan Dynamite in January... Also participated in the 30-man Royal Rumble match at the Royal Rumble PPV in January... At the Elimination Chamber PPV in February, he competed in a 6-man battle royal for the Cruiserweight Title but was unsuccessful again Year 3: Continues to compete mostly in tag team matches with partner Omega... Participated in the King of the Ring Tournament but lost in the quarterfinal round to Renegade... In August, Alpha & Omega's former trainer and mentor Master Kimoto appeared and took his pupils back under his wing... The Japanese duo re-emerged as a more efficient and successful team and began to tally up numerous tag team victories... On the final Smackdown of October, he & Omega beat the G.L.O.W. duo thanks to a shocking betrayal by Quinn Cabdury, making the Japanese luchadors the new #1 contenders... They challenged the Bullet Boyz to a title match, but Craig & Tony took a deliberate DQ loss... Master Kimoto spoke on his pupils' behalf, requesting another fair chance at the Tag Titles, but the Bullet Boyz forced them to win 2 singles matches to prove their worth... After earning the title match, Alpha & Omega beat the Bullet Boyz at the Survivor Series PPV... During December, Craig & Tony attacked them multiple times and demanded a rematch... On the final Raw of December, Alpha & Omega retained their titles against Craig & Tony, essentially ending their rivalry... In January, Alpha & Omega retained their titles again at the Royal Rumble PPV, defeating American Cool... In February, they waited as the tag team division got screwy, with several teams breaking up and others rising up... They finally got their opponents in Hitman Jack & H.E.R.O. but they broke up a week before the scheduled title match... Hitman Jack showed up on Raw to fulfill the obligation and an exciting 2-on-1 Handicap match for the Tag Team Titles was held, with the Japanese luchadors barely defeating the "Lethal Canadian"... In March, Rebel Ford & Ace earned the #1 contender's spot and challenged for the titles days before WrestleMania... During the match, Master Kimoto became frustrated and ordered Alpha to use the title belt illegally and struck the referee accidentally, causing a DQ loss that allowed them to retain the titles |
