Year 2
United States Championship:
David Degenerate (C) vs. Rebel Ford
Rebel Ford got caught in a difficult title defense last month at Summerslam, when his involvement in multiple feuds led to a 4-way TLC match for his U.S. belt. Unfortunately, he couldn't keep the title as the "Dangerous Genius" scaled the ladder to win the match and the belt. Rebel wanted his title back and challenged David D. to a rematch at the upcoming Hell in a Cell PPV, and both men spent the month of September engaging in a vicious round of promos intended to intimidate the other. Fans were excited to see these two finally get it on when the PPV event arrived.
Rebel entered first to a raucous crowd, who cheered for the rebellious favorite and was hopeful to see him upend the hated "Genius". Then the champ himself made his way down, taunting the fans and earning even more heat as he strutted to the ring. The crowd was buzzing in anticipation for this match and they started a lull roar as the two locked up.
The early part of the bout was a great display of technical wrestling, with each man showing great reversal skills and landing some impressive moves. David D. was able to catch his challenger with some slick maneuvers, knocking him down and stopping the potential momentum shifts. Rebel continued to fight back, but the "Genius" always seemed to gain the upper hand. The action spilled outside briefly, and Rebel lifted the champ up and dropped him hard onto the barricade. He then hit a suplex onto the floor and seemed to daze the "Genius".
In the end, the men returned to the ring and continued to fight. Rebel hit his Guard Breaker signature and the crowd started to get fired up for his Poetic Justice finisher. Rebel got the champ on his shoulders, but David D. raked his eyes and wiggled free. With the challenger blinded, David pounced and caught Rebel with his Genius Bomb finisher! As the ref counted the pinfall, David grabbed the ropes for leverage and forced Rebel down for the 3 count!
David celebrated another sneaky victory while Rebel pleaded his case to the ref, but it didn't affect the outcome. The "Genius" again found a way to enrage his opponents, annoy the fans... and remain champion!
WINNER (and still United States Champion): David Degenerate

Hardcore Championship:
Travis Roarke (C) vs. Big Mutha Trucker
Last month on a Superstars show, Roarke pulled a big upset when he beat Trucker for the Hardcore title. The loss majorly angered the "Resident Redneck", and he attacked the new champ backstage multiple times in the buildup to this rematch. The "Assassin" got in a few shots himself at his rival, and the two prepared for a hardcore war for the Hell in a Cell PPV.
The Extreme Rules, falls-count-anywhere rules were used exclusively in this match, and the battered condition both men finished in left fans cringing. The vicious weapon shots and use of the environment created a very bloody battle between the Raw brand's toughest competitors.
In the end, Trucker's fury and determination to reclaim the title was too much for Roarke to overcome. After nailing Travis with a chair shot, Trucker planted him with a White Trash signature! Trucker waited patiently for his challenger to rise, and then finished him off with a Big Foot kick! Trucker got the pinfall and won back the title!
WINNER (and NEW Hardcore Champion): Big Mutha Trucker

Divas Championship:
Michelle McCool (C) vs. Melina
The rivalry between Michelle McCool and Melina had dominated the Raw brand's Diva division for well over a year, and it seemed like their issues continued to go unresolved. After Michelle upset Melina back in April to win the Divas title, the Hollywood starlet began a personal crusade to reclaim her belt at all costs. McCool defended the title against Melina in May and won a 3-way title bout involving Melina and Maryse in June, so she had all the advantage heading into September.
It was a vicious and hard-fought battle between the two rival Divas, but it appeared Melina had finally figured McCool out. After taking control late, Melina caught the champ with a Sunset Split and pinned her to win the title!

Intercontinental Championship (Cage Match):
Hitman Jack (C) vs. Joseph T. Lutte
The "Fantastic Frenchman" saw his constant arrogance come back to bite him last month, as his overconfidence allowed Hitman to pull the upset and win the I.C. title. Lutte badly wanted his rematch, and found ways to blindside attack the new champ several times throughout the month in hopes of gaining some type of advantage. The cowardly, dirty attacks left a sour taste in Hitman's mouth, and he desperately wanted to get his hands on Lutte at the PPV. And Smackdown GM Teddy Long thought the fairest way to allow Hitman to defend against the sneaky Frenchman was to... put them in a cage!
Lutte entered with a very rare focused expression, while the ever-dangerous Hitman made his entrance in a very pumped-up manner. Once the cage lowered, the title match was on! The two rivals laid into each other, hoping to cause damage early for a possible quick escape. Lutte took control and tossed the champ hard into the corner, but Hitman reversed his follow-up clothesline and planted the Frenchman with a solid suplex. Hitman then beat up on his foe, slamming him into the cage wall and knocking him to the mat multiple times. Jack went for an escape, but Lutte rose up in time to pull him back down.
Lutte then took the momentum, smashing Hitman's head off the turnbuckle and dropping him with a slam of his own. He then got Hitman into the corner and delivered a superplex off the turnbuckle, and began to crawl for the door! But just as Lutte was reaching for the steel steps, Hitman grabbed his ankle and pulled him back in.
The battle continued as both men fought hard over the belt. In the end, Hitman tried to escape again but Lutte chased him up the cage wall. They battled on the cage, but then Lutte knocked Hitman's forehead against the cage and sent the champ falling hard to the mat below! Lutte leaped down and waited for Hitman to rise, and then caught him with his Moneymaker finisher! With the champ down, Lutte slowly made his way up the cage, and climbed down as Hitman desperately tried to catch him!
Lutte celebrated his reclaiming of the Intercontinental title as Hitman was angrily disappointed inside the ring. The Frenchman seemed pleased but was definitely exhausted from the battle that took place.

World Heavyweight Championship (Hell in a Cell Match):
Gravedigger (C) vs. Eric Executioner
Eric E. was very angry after losing the World title to the "Graveyard Monster" at Summerslam, but Smackdown GM Teddy Long was not willing to simply give him a rematch after his nasty actions while as champion. Long forced Eric to earn his rematch by competing in a #1 Contender's 6-man battle royal... but Eric spoiled the GM's challenge by winning the match! With the rematch set and the Hell in a Cell stipulation put into play, the feud between 'Digger and the narcissist got even hotter as the PPV drew near. The vicious backstage altercations, the in-ring fiascos and the overall hate brewing between them led fans to a high level of excitement for this match.
After both men entered the hellacious structure, the war began in a big way. The two super-heavyweights traded punches early, but then the champ took control and sent Eric flying out of the ring! It was clear that both men were willing to take advantage of the environment in order to claim a big victory. 'Digger slammed Eric into the steel steps, and then tackled him hard into the cell wall! The "Monster" seemed to be working on a level of anger rarely seen from him, and it was doing major damage to his foe.
But Eric turned the tide and started giving some pain of his own. He found a steel chair under the ring and started blasting 'Digger with vicious shots to the back and head. He then found a sledgehammer, wound up and... clocked the champ right in the forehead! Eric rolled the woozy champ into the ring, but his pinfall attempt was cut short by a late kickout.
The hard-fought battle raged on as both men landed some big moves and got some near-falls. In the end, Eric had control but could not seem to keep 'Digger down. Every kickout and every surprise reversal raised Eric's frustrations, and he started to get sloppy. With 'Digger slightly reeling, Eric went for his Final Verdict finisher but the resilient "Monster" kicked himself free and knocked the challenger down with his Devil's Cross signature! When Eric rose from the mat, 'Digger snuck up behind him and planted him with a hard Cemetery Slam! The ref counted the pinfall, and an exhausted Gravedigger had retained the World title in brutal fashion!

WWE Championship (Hell in a Cell Match):
DMK (C) vs. Tank Blazer
The long-standing but quiet feud between DMK and Tank Blazer finally boiled over this month. The former stablemates-turned-rivals had always had beef with each other, but it never really came to a head until Tank issued a challenge to the champ for his WWE title. A war of words and a few physical encounters ensued, and fans were shocked at the deep hatred that each man held for the other. With the WWE title and the looming Hell in a Cell stipulation on the line, everybody had a high level of anticipation for this very personal war coming to possibly a vicious resolution.
Tank entered first and surprisingly had the support of the crowd, who hoped to see the former serviceman upend the suddenly-evil champ and earn the highest distinction in the WWE. Then DMK entered to a chorus of boos, as the fans' disgust for the selfish champ had grown exponentially over the past few months. The two men stood nose-to-nose in the ring as the ref called for the bell, talking trash and trying to intimidate the other. The tall heavyweights glared at each other, and then the punches flew! Back and forth they traded blows, and then Tank took control and knocked the champ into the corner. He laid into him with vicious strikes as the crowd cheered! DMK tried to counter back, but Tank caught him with a German suplex! Things seemed to be rolling for the "Captain" early on.
But DMK refused to go down easy and battled back. After reversing the momentum, he tossed Tank hard outside the ring and began to use the environment to his advantage. He whipped Tank into the steel steps, slammed him into the cell wall and beat him with a chair. Then, with Tank reeling against the cell, DMK shocked everyone... when he speared his challenger through the cell wall! The fans gasped as the two grapplers lay in a heap of busted metal. When they rose the battle continued outside the cell and DMK dropped Tank right onto the barricade. The champ seemed to have control but his eyes went to a dangerous spot... the top of the cell! DMK climbed up and dared Tank to follow him... which the "Captain" did!
The two rivals fought hard on the top of the cell as fans watched anxiously, knowing the danger that could take place. DMK started to knock Tank around and had him teetering on the edge of the cell. But just as DMK was going to send his foe sailing... Tank reversed! DMK was shocked at the maneuver, and Tank grabbed him and prepared for a big powerbomb! The crowd started to shout and cheer, as they knew a big move was coming! Tank lifted the champ up, stepped to the edge... and sent DMK crashing through the announce table below! The fans roared in delight as they watched the champ suffer a 20-foot drop through wood and metal! Tank stood proudly on the top of the cell, while DMK's limp body laid in the debris for several moments.
Tank climbed down and grabbed the champ out of the mess, and dragged him back to ringside. He rolled DMK into the ring and went for the cover with the ref counting 1... 2... KICK OUT! Tank and the fans were shocked that DMK still had life in him after that nasty fall! Tank argued with the ref briefly as DMK slowly rose to his feet. When Tank approached him, DMK fired back! The resilient champ had sprung to life, and was wailing on his challenger with quick forceful strikes and knocked him to the mat. DMK grabbed a nearby chair, waited for Tank to rise... and then blasted him over the skull! The shot busted Tank open and blood began to trickle down his face. Sensing his chance, DMK wasted no time and snatched Tank by the throat. He then planted Tank with a huge Checkmate finisher, and the ref counted to 3!
A very groggy DMK accepted his retained title belt from the ref and had trouble staying on his feet during his celebration. The crowd just watched in quiet anger as the champ had bounced back nearly from the dead to keep his title in a brutal match. Tank rolled in pain on the mat, trying to wipe the blood from his eyes as DMK watched with a scowl. DMK leaned against the ropes and raised his belt high as the PPV came to a close!
