But despite his admirations, the business elements and the backstage politics always left a sour taste in his mouth. He vowed that if he was ever able to compete at pro wrestling's highest level, he would make such an impact that the wrestling world would change forever. He first entered the wrestling world the day after he turned 18 when he joined a local wrestling training center on his last dime. He wrestled in his first match only a few months into training, and quickly moved up the independent ranks. He bounced around several independent circuits, leaving a strange mark at each one trying to rid the favoritism and poorly-designed bookings he viewed. He nearly put himself on the verge of being blacklisted, but his in-ring ability and scathing promos continued to get him opportunities. In a strange turn of events, the one organization that Rebel vowed to change (WWE) offered him a contract with a plan to build on his ideals. It didn't take Rebel long to move through the developmental ranks and make his WWE debut. It will be only a matter of time before lasting change hits the WWE universe. Career Overview Year 1: Made his debut in August as a member of the Raw brand... He quickly formed the Theory of Revolution team alongside Renegade... Together, they identified the Good As Hell stable of WWE champ DMK, Antonio Jordan and Corey Youngblood as a threat and began a feud with them... At the Summerslam PPV, they teamed up with U.S. champ David Degenerate against the Good As Hell group but they failed to defeat their rivals... In September, Divas champ Melina joined the Theory of Revolution group and became close with Rebel... In November, he competed in a 20-man battle royal at the Survivor Series PPV... Despite debuting as a heel group, the popularity of the Theory of Revolution group caused them to re-think their stance and morphed into fan favorites... In January, Rebel had climbed the ranks quickly and earned a U.S. Title shot against Hitman Jack... At the Royal Rumble PPV, Rebel lost to Hitman... He also competed in the 30-man Royal Rumble match later that evening... In February, Rebel wanted another title match against Hitman Jack and they continued to feud... At the Elimination Chamber PPV, Rebel used a well-timed leverage pin to win the match and earn his first U.S. Title reign and first championship win overall... In March, Hitman wanted a rematch and they continued to feud but another man entered the title picture... Brett Diamond had broken away from the P.I.M.P.S. group and claimed he was good enough to challenge for the U.S. Title, so a 3-way title match was made... At WrestleMania, Rebel retained the U.S. Title in a Triple Threat match against Hitman Jack and Brett Diamond Year 2: Began the year as the reigning U.S. champ and aligned in the Theory of Revolution group with Renegade and Divas champ Melina... He and Melina supported Renegade in his ongoing quest for the WWE Title... Melina lost the Divas Title to Michelle McCool at the Backlash PPV... In May, Travis Roarke became #1 contender for the U.S. Title and started a feud with Rebel... At the Extreme Rules PPV, Roarke upset Rebel to win the U.S. Title and Melina failed to reclaim the Divas Title from Michelle McCool... Later that night, Renegade finally won the WWE Title and gave the Theory of Revolution group some legitimate power... But in June, Rebel and Melina felt disrespected and forgotten over Renegade's title victory and they turned against him and the Theory of Revolution team split... Rebel focused on regaining the U.S. Title back from Travis Roarke... At The Bash PPV, Rebel defeated Travis in a Steel Cage match to win his 2nd U.S. Title... The feud continued into July, where they agreed to face off in a First Blood match... At the Night of Champions PPV, Rebel won again and Travis turned face after the match, shaking hands and raising the champ's hand himself... In August, a new rival emerged in David Degenerate but the ongoing feud between Carson Pain and Shawn Midnight also got intertwined... A Fatal 4-Way TLC match was made for Rebel's U.S. Title... At the Summerslam PPV, David claimed the belt off the ladder to win the title... Rebel wanted a rematch against David and they met at the Hell in a Cell PPV, but David won to retain the title... In October, he was chosen as part of Team Raw alongside Brett Diamond and H.E.R.O. for a 6-man tag match against Team Smackdown... At the Bragging Rights PPV, Rebel was the lone survivor after pinning Smackdown's Antonio Jordan to win the match for Team Raw... In November, he faced off against Big Mutha Trucker for the Hardcore Title but lost and suffered several brutal injuries that kept him out of competition for 2 months... He made a surprise return in the 30-man Royal Rumble match in January, and finished runner-up to winner Carson Pain... He went on a lengthy winning streak to close out the year, but did not receive any title opportunities Year 3: Was drafted to the Smackdown brand to begin the year, and immediately received a World Heavyweight Title match against Ace on the first Smackdown episode of the new year... He upset Ace to win his 1st World Title... The following week, Rebel broke off his relationship with Melina which sent her into an emotional funk... The feud developed between Rebel and Ace, and they had a rematch at the Backlash PPV but Rebel won to retain... In May, Ace tried to attack or annoy Rebel throughout the month but his attempts were continuously cut off by Angus... Angus would face Ace at the Extreme Rules PPV, but Rebel wouldn't accept Angus's help and the "Irish Giant" stopped the assistance when June rolled around... In June, Rebel formed a new relationship with Women's champ Eve Torres but they were getting stalked by an unknown person... The stalker turned out to be Rebel's old flame Melina, who had enlisted Ace as her new confidant... After Melina upset Eve on an episode of Smackdown, GM Teddy Long created a "Winner Take All" mixed-tag match for both Rebel's World Title and Eve's Women's Title... At the King of the Ring PPV, Eve pinned Melina in the match to allow both Rebel and Eve to retain their belts over Ace and Melina... Earlier that night, Eric Executioner won the King of the Ring Tournament to earn a World Title shot at the Night of Champions PPV... Eric and Mr. Black began to attack and intimidate both Rebel and Eve throughout July, but Rebel held his own and prepared to defend his belt... At the Night of Champions PPV, Eric overwhelmed Rebel to win the match and the title... Rebel wanted a rematch, but the mind games continued... Eric and Mr. Black abducted Eve at the conclusion of an episode of Smackdown, and performed strange mind control techniques on her... The following week, Rebel managed to save Eve but it appeared that the damage was done... Days before the Summerslam PPV, Mr. Black offered Rebel a choice - lose the match intentionally and Eve won't be bothered again, or win the match but face Mr. Black's unknown wrath!... At the Summerslam PPV, Rebel fought hard and worried Mr. Black, who ordered Eric to use a steel chair and give Rebel a victory by DQ to preserve Eric's title reign... A few days later on Smackdown, Eric and Mr. Black appeared during Eve's Women's Title defense and their distraction caused her to lose her title... Eve broke off her relationship with Rebel, which sent him into a mental breakdown... He began to attack Eric repeatedly, causing Mr. Black to become very concerned for his client... Rebel challenged Eric to a Hell in a Cell match, and Mr. Black offered to put the World Title on the line despite Eric's objections... At the Hell in a Cell PPV, Rebel again battled hard against the narcissist but suffered a lower limb injury late in the match and eventually lost... He revealed on the first Smackdown of October that he had severely broken his ankle and needed surgery... Ace returned and saved his former rival from a beatdown by Eric... Rebel was absent for 2 months due to recovery, but returned on the first Smackdown of December... He brought a guest, Triple H, who replaced Teddy Long as Smackdown GM due to corruption that Rebel had discovered... Rebel also revealed himself to be healthy, attacking Eric with a crutch to end a brawl... Triple H scheduled a 4-way TLC match for the next PPV, pitting Rebel, Ace and Antonio Jordan against Eric for the World Title... On the final Smackdown days before the PPV, Eve Torres revealed that she had aligned with Mr. Black... Rebel was shocked and confronted her about it at the PPV... In the World Title match, which was a Match of the Year candidate, Rebel got busted open despite a solid effort and Eric retained the title... In January he formed an unlikely alliance with Ace and they began to make an impact... They faced American Cool in a #1 contender's match but were not able to win... At the Royal Rumble PPV, Rebel entered at #29 but was eliminated by Carson Pain... In February he failed to qualify for the World Heavyweight Elimination Chamber match... In March, he & Ace moved up the tag team rankings and earned the #1 contender spot... On the final Smackdown of the month, they faced Alpha & Omega for the Tag Team Titles... They won by DQ when Alpha struck the referee accidentally with the title belt (as Master Kimoto ordered him to use it against Ace illegally) but couldn't claim the titles |
