As a young adolescent growing up in L.A., Krizz caught the eye of multiple college scouts as a top-notch quarterback for the football team and as a solid forward on the basketball squad. After completing his senior seasons in which he earned Honorable Mention All-State in football and 1st Team All-Conference in basketball, Krizz was deciding between multiple college offers for both sports. In a very unfortunate car accident, Krizz suffered several injuries that forced him to spend over a year rehabilitating his body back to normal. Due to this, his scholarship offers were rescinded and Krizz was stuck in limbo. A natural competitor looking for that next athletic challenge, Krizz was recommended to a wrestling camp by a friend and was immediately hooked. His athletic gifts worked well in the ring and his "cool" attitude created entertaining promos. After impressing in the California independent circuit for 8 months, the WWE offered him a contract. In a storyline designed to debut him, Krizz was disguised as another top wrestler and competed in several matches as a "stunt double" for the wrestler. In the twist of the storyline, it was revealed that the "fake" wrestler was Krizz and he was officially put on the roster. This storyline gave Krizz an intriguing angle and has since made a big impact on the big stage of WWE. Career Overview Year 1: Began the year as the reigning Intercontinental champ... He was also aligned with Rusty in the 2 Cool 2 Xtreme tag team... In April, he was chosen as one of 3 Smackdown representatives in an inter-promotional 6-man battle royal... At the Backlash PPV, Krizz finished runner-up to fellow Smackdown grappler Carson Pain... In May, Travis Roarke became the #1 contender for the Intercontinental Title and they feuded throughout the month... At the Extreme Rules PPV, he lost the title to Travis... In July, he received an opportunity to compete for the newly-reinstated ECW Title... At the Night of Champions PPV, he faced Mack Wheeler in a Ladder match for the belt but lost... He began to focus more on his tag team with Rusty, and in September they rose the ranks and earned the #1 contender spot... At the Hell in a Cell PPV, he and Rusty upset the Badass Coalition duo of Big Mutha Trucker and Tank Blazer to win their first Tag Team Titles... Their win was impressive, but their reign did not last long... In October, he and Rusty defended the belts against the Bullet Boyz at the Bragging Rights PPV but lost the match and the titles... In November, he again turned his attention to the ECW Title and earned a title shot against then-current champ Joseph T. Lutte... At the Survivor Series PPV, Joseph started the match with a brutal sneak attack and won in quick fashion to retain the title... Angry over the cheap loss, Krizz demanded a fair rematch... But instead of battling just Joseph, he also had to deal with Billy Carter and Zach Wesley who had formed the Foreign Power group with the Frenchman... At the TLC PPV, Krizz and Joseph fought in a Ladder match for the ECW Title but Joseph narrowly won to retain again... In January, the two rivals agreed to a final match between them, this time in the dangerous Hell in a Cell... At the Royal Rumble PPV, Krizz finally defeated Joseph and won his 1st ECW Title... Later that night, he also competed in the 30-man Royal Rumble match... In February, he won a qualifying match for a spot in the Elimination Chamber match for the World Heavyweight Title... At the Elimination Chamber PPV, Krizz finished runner-up to champ Carson Pain who retained the title... In March, Krizz continued a short feud with Zach Wesley after their qualifying matchups back in February... Krizz faced Zach in an ECW Title match, but won to retain the title Year 2: Began the year as the reigning ECW champ... Early in the new season, Rusty and Krizz split due to their lack of success in the tag team division... Despite seeming like a mutual agreement, the split caused an emotional struggle for Krizz... That struggle led him to be distracted during his feud with Vincent Serum, and he lost the ECW Title to the "Vicious Vampire" late in April... The title loss helped Krizz re-focus and in May, he won a 6-man battle royal to become the #1 contender for the World Heavyweight Title... He feuded with champ Eric Executioner but at the Extreme Rules PPV, Eric won to retain the belt... In June, he rediscovered his love for tag team competition and formed the American Cool team with Antonio Jordan... They shot up the tag team ranks quickly and feuded with the then-current champs, the Bullet Boyz... In a hint of personal payback for Krizz, he and Antonio upset the Bullet Boyz to win the Tag Team Titles... It was Krizz's 2nd reign as Tag Team champ... In July, they were scheduled to defend their titles against Vincent Serum and Hitman Jack... But at the Night of Champions PPV, Serum & Hitman were attacked by rivals Billy Carter & Zach Wesley just moments before the match... Despite their reluctance due to the assault, Antonio & Krizz defeated their challengers easily to retain the titles... In August, a new challenging team emerged in the Olympian duo of Parker & Coop... At the Summerslam PPV, Parker & Coop upset Antonio & Krizz to win their second Tag Team Titles... In October, he was chosen along with Antonio and rookie Guy Justice to represent Team Smackdown for a 6-man elimination-style tag match... At the Bragging Rights PPV, Krizz was eliminated midway through the match and Antonio was the last Smackdown grappler eliminated as Rebel Ford won the bout for Team Raw... In November, he again turned his sights briefly to the ECW Title as he won a qualifying match for a 6-man battle royal spot... At the Survivor Series PPV, Krizz finished runner-up in the #1 contender battle royal, getting last eliminated by former friend Rusty... In January, he competed in the 30-man Royal Rumble match... He and Antonio competed as a team often but failed to earn a Tag Team Title shot throughout the remainder of the year Year 3: Began the year still as a Smackdown member and aligned with new Intercontinental champ Antonio Jordan in the American Cool team... Early in April, they added rookie Diva Audrey Vega to their group... He and Antonio continued to feud with Joseph T. Lutte after Antonio beat him for the Intercontinental Title... In May, Joseph formed the G.L.O.W. team with rookie and former European rival Quinn Cadbury and they defeated Antonio & Krizz to become the #1 contenders for the Tag Team Titles, which they won on an episode of Raw... In June, Antonio & Krizz challenged the G.L.O.W. team to a No DQ Tag Team Title match but at the King of the Ring PPV, Joseph & Quinn won to retain the belts... In July, American Cool lost their #1 contenders' status to the Bullet Boyz thanks to interference from Joseph T. Lutte... Due to Antonio's interference during the Tag Team Title match at Night of Champions, he was forced to defend his Intercontinental Title in a tag team match at the Summerslam PPV... Krizz became enamored with the thought of having a legitimate chance to win the belt, which led to arguments between them both on Smackdown prior to the PPV and during the PPV match itself... Their arguments helped Joseph pin Antonio to win the match and the title... In September, Antonio and Krizz mended their issues... Throughout the winter months, he continued to support Antonio & Audrey in their quests for individual titles... In January, American Cool made another run up the tag team ranks, beating Rebel Ford & Ace and Hitman Jack & H.E.R.O. in separate #1 contender matches to earn a title shot... At the Royal Rumble PPV, they challenged Alpha & Omega for the Tag Team Titles, but a miscommunication led to defeat as the Japanese duo retained the belts... Later in the show, Krizz entered the 30-man Rumble match one spot after Antonio, but again communication issues led to Antonio choosing to eliminate his own tag team partner... The American Cool duo couldn't reconcile their differences and officially broke up... Both he and Antonio qualified for the World Heavyweight Elimination Chamber match, but Krizz was the first entrant and the first man eliminated... In March, he rekindled his friendship with Rusty and helped him earn an Intercontinental Title shot by interfering in his match against Vincent Serum... He supported Rusty throughout the month, culminating in the "2 Xtreme" superfan's Intercontinental Title victory at WrestleMania |
