His athletic ability and menacing stature was a perfect combination for a career in pro wrestling, and after being discovered at a local independent show in the U.S. Virgin Islands, he signed a contract with WWE. His in-ring ability and mezmerizing mic skills allowed him to quickly climb the developmental ranks, and he made his WWE debut only 7 months after signing his original contract. DMK originally debuted under a different ring name, and had a face role as a heavy-metal rocker. After hanging around the lower mid-card for a few months, DMK was kidnapped by an evil stable and brainwashed to become their young and powerful workhorse. DMK performed dispicable actions as part of this stable, but could never break out as a singles star. The leader of this evil stable asked DMK to perform one final action: to assault an innocent WWE Diva in the name of the stable. According to the evil leader, this would be DMK's final test as a stable member; rewards and a budding career as an evil heel awaited. But DMK struggled with the request, and as a result, friction began to develop within the stable and especially between DMK and the evil leader. The evil leader continued to prod DMK about completing his request, and DMK would find ways to avoid the situation to allow him time to make a decision. Finally at the Royal Rumble PPV, the evil leader confronted DMK one final time with the entire stable in tow, giving him one final chance to complete his request... or face the consequences. Backed into a corner, DMK could only do one thing... fight back. But to the surprise of the evil leader and the stable, DMK had gotten much stronger and agile than they thought. Without much resistance, DMK fought off the stable but was unable to dispatch of the evil leader who escaped in shock and anger. The shocking face turn made DMK an instant star, and his feud with the evil leader had officially begun. At the Elimination Chamber, the evil leader retained his WWE title in a grueling match but DMK came out following to match to announce some big news: he was challenging the evil leader for the WWE title at Wrestlemania. The psychological games between the two built up an intense feud that ended in a 5-star, Wrestlemania main event in which DMK pinned the evil leader to claim his 1st WWE Championship reign. The victory vaulted DMK to "face of the company" status, while the evil leader disappeared in humiliation. Career Overview Year 1: Formed Hell United team with Shawn Midnight... At the beginning of Year 1, the Hell United team held the WWE title (DMK), the U.S. title (Midnight) and the Tag Team titles... He and Shawn lost to the new Badass Coalition stable members David Degenerate, Big Mutha Trucker and Tank Blazer in a 3-on-2 handicap match at the Backlash PPV... Defeated Big Mutha Trucker at the Extreme Rules PPV and The Bash PPV, including a title defense in the second match... Midnight betrayed DMK at the Night of Champions PPV and they lost the Tag Team titles to the rival Badass Coalition team of Big Mutha Trucker & Tank Blazer... He formed a new stable, known as Good As Hell, with Corey Youngblood and Antonio Jordan... The new stable was a serious rival to the Badass Coalition... Hitman Jack joined the stable in September but also earned a shot at DMK's WWE title... Despite DMK's attempts to keep the friendship alive, Hitman Jack turned on him after DMK won their title match at the Hell in a Cell PPV... The Badass Coalition leader and U.S. champ David Degenerate became the #1 Contender in October and vowed to "unify" the titles... DMK did not view David D. as a serious threat and agreed to a stipulation that if DMK lost, he would not be allowed a rematch... David D. used dirty tactics to upset DMK and win the WWE title... Fellow Good As Hell stablemate Antonio Jordan won the WWE title the following month but DMK himself went several months trying to find ways back into the WWE title picture... He failed to win the Royal Rumble in January and competed in a WWE title Elimination Chamber match in February, but David D. reclaimed the title and DMK was the 4th man eliminated... DMK started a feud with Smackdown superstar Ace to help him prepare for the Money in the Bank Ladder Match at WrestleMania... The prep work paid off as DMK won the briefcase at the March PPV Year 2: The Good As Hell stable dissolved when Antonio Jordan was drafted to Smackdown, but DMK kept up good relations with Youngblood... DMK defeated Tank Blazer and Dylan Dynamite in a Handicap Match at Backlash... In May, he feuded briefly with Trucker and won the Hardcore title... To humiliate Trucker, DMK gifted the Hardcore title to Youngblood the following week... He teamed briefly with then-WWE champ Renegade to battle the Badass Coalition, but his "friendship" with Renegade was all a ploy to regain the WWE title... At the Night of Champions PPV, DMK shockingly cashed in his briefcase on Renegade following his WWE title defense against Trucker, quickly defeating the party animal to win his 2nd WWE Title... The following night on Raw, DMK gave a scathing promo about the fans and Renegade and clearly turned heel... Renegade challenged him to a rematch at Summerslam in a Last Man Standing Match, but DMK won handily and revealed to everyone that a darker, evil DMK had returned... In September, DMK faced rival Tank Blazer at the Hell in a Cell PPV and won a very brutal match... In October, he participated in the 6-man Hell in a Cell match at the Bragging Rights PPV and was the man pinned by Ace to lose the match... DMK defended his title against former friend Shawn Midnight at Survivor Series and again at TLC (in a Triple Threat Match that also involved rival Renegade)... In January, DMK formed a shocking partnership with former rival David Degenerate (named Hell's Genius) and together they captured the Tag Team titles from Trucker & Tank at the Royal Rumble PPV... U.S. champ Carson Pain won the Royal Rumble and became an immediate threat to Hell's Genius power over the Raw brand... At the Elimination Chamber PPV, DMK's distractions allowed David D. to beat Carson and reclaim the U.S. title, giving Hell's Genius all of the main Raw titles heading into WrestleMania... The feud between DMK and Carson grew into a very intense matchup for their WrestleMania main event title match, in which Carson upset DMK to win the WWE title Year 3: Began the year still reigning as Tag Team champs alongside David Degenerate in the Hell's Genius team, but was focused on regaining the WWE Title... He lost to champ Carson Pain at the Backlash PPV due partially to a distraction by a video... He and David lost the Tag Team titles on an episode of Raw in May due to interference... At the Extreme Rules PPV, DMK faced Carson again but was attacked by a returning Gravedigger... DMK won the match by DQ, but did not win the title... A feud sparked between he and Gravedigger, and they met in a No DQ match at the King of the Ring PPV... Gravedigger won the match but DMK turned face due to his refusal to give up... In July, Gravedigger turned his focus towards Carson's WWE Title but DMK mentioned his legitimate right to a title shot... A Triple Threat match was made but at the Night of Champions PPV, DMK appeared poised to win the match but received a desperate chair shot from Carson late in the match and Carson pinned 'Digger to retain the title... In August, DMK became determined to prevent Gravedigger's path to the WWE Title and Carson's guilt over the match finish at Night of Champions continued their multi-way feud... But another challenger entered the picture, as Mr. McMahon announced he was including his hand-picked man: David Degenerate!... A Fatal 4-Way Elimination match was made for Summerslam, but during the match DMK and Gravedigger were controversially eliminated due to a double countout and David won the WWE Title... The rivalry between DMK and 'Digger escalated and in September, they had multiple violent encounters... Midway through the month, Raw GM Stephanie McMahon intervened to prevent further brawls and offered a solution - a Hell in a Cell match!... At the Hell in a Cell PPV, DMK outlasted Gravedigger to win a brutal main-event match... In October, the feud with Gravedigger continued but a shocking moment happened when 'Digger tried to burn DMK alive in a casket on Raw... They agreed to face off in a Last Man Standing match at the next PPV... At Judgment Day, DMK knocked Gravedigger out to win the match and essentially end the long, brutal rivalry... At the conclusion of the PPV, DMK was shown leaving the arena but his car (with him inside) was crushed by an unknown assailant in a large truck... An investigation was launched into discovering who attacked DMK, but he was absent from Raw for several months... At the Royal Rumble PPV, DMK made his surprise return as the #30 entrant into the Royal Rumble match... He outlasted the final few competitors, eliminating Carson Pain last, to win the match and earn a WWE Title shot at the next WrestleMania... In Februart, Mr. McMahon forced DMK to put his title shot on the line in the Elimination Chamber and also made him face each of his challengers in a series of matches each week on Raw... This created new or re-ignited old rivalries for DMK, but he was able to win the Chamber match by last eliminating Gravedigger... He then focused on David Degenerate with the WrestleMania main event looming, and also received an offer of help from Carson Pain which he accepted... He and David had several interesting encounters and it led up to a monumental contract signing days before the PPV... David offered stipulations that would have DMK leave the Raw brand and transfer the "King" moniker over to him if the champion was to retain, whereas DMK wanted the match changed to a No DQ/No Countout, wanted Mr. McMahon to resign as Raw GM and re-install Stephanie McMahon to her former role and also wanted David to waive his automatic rematch clause if he won the title... At WrestleMania, David and Mr. McMahon basically teamed up to lower DMK's chances until Carson Pain returned from an earlier injury to help... With Carson forcefully removing Mr. McMahon from the area, DMK was able to finish the job and win his 3rd WWE Title |
