Born into a wrestling family that included his father and grandfather as former stars in the territorial era, Jordan is one of several 3rd-generation superstars beginning to make their name known. From an early age he was trained to take bumps and apply holds and would often accompany his father to events. In fact in one infamous moment, a young 7-year old Jordan clocked one of his father's opponents with the ring bell hammer which allowed his father to pick up a clutch title defense. After graduating high school Jordan entered his father's training facility and began his career directly under his father's ruthless tutelage. His father's expectations and demands were supremely high, and despite the harsh training methods and controversial motivational ploys his father employed, Jordan exceeded every standard set along the way. Antonio signed with an independent circuit and his father became his manager, and together they worked hard to increase Antonio's exposure. Jordan showed a natural ability in the ring, but it was his smarts and cleverness that earned him the nickname "Mastermind". In one storyline, Antonio found a way to convince the current heavyweight champion to "train" with him in a series of matches which were designed to prepare for a title defense against a mystery opponent. In a surprise twist, the mystery opponent turned out to be Antonio who used all of the champion's moves against him and won the title handily. After his father became ill, Antonio took a short break from the ring but received a contract offer from WWE. Under his father's advice, Antonio accepted and returned to the ring. Unfortunately only a few months after Antonio's WWE debut, his father took a turn for the worse and died peacefully in his bed. Jordan was shook by the loss but continues to use his father's lasting lessons and the motivation from his passing to hopefully become one of the greatest grapplers of all-time.
